They head off to the left where the latest call for help came from, and find some more people and animals stuck. There's lots more wading and swimming in the mud before they get everybody out. The animals mill around on the solid ground, waiting for their humans to be rescued or to finish helping with the rescue of others.
"How are you doing there, Nugget-chan?" says Curufin, cheerfully, as he brings a cow up the slope. The cow is muddy up to her neck, but happy to help. They used her to help haul people out of the muck.
