"...on the train I go by Eight." She pauses, giving Caleb a serious look. "...but you can call me Mimi if... you like. I don't mind." Mimi was her real name, but circumstances made her lose it once. In the absence of anything better, Eight was taken as a placeholder but since it has taken on its own meaning.

"Stay there, I'm going to get something." She dove back into the manhole cover only to pop out with what looked like a broken fire extinguisher slung over her shoulder and a bucket in her hands. "Its not fancy, but it will do."

The next moment she sloshes the alley with a splash of magenta liquid. Before Caleb could ask what she's doing, she hops up into the air, changes her form into an octopus, and dives straight into the ink. A pair of eyes bob out of the ink. "I'll go ahead, but I'll stay in sight. Take your time. So long as you stand near the ink trail, I will be nearby."
