There's nothing in Taiki's own world and very little in others that can move quicker than a kirin in full flight and Taiki is confident they will lose the illusion pretty quickly.

He hopes Tidus can keep a good grip. He's flown on Taiki's back before but not like this. Taiki's barely flown like this before. A few short bursts, such as when he first transformed, saving Lord Gyousou. But to use his full speed, flying through this crumbling city, ducking round debris and avoiding the many obstacles.

It's exhilarating and exhausting, especially when carrying a bleeding passenger. He can't keep it up for long and he soon comes to a stop, landing on top of a still standing building, looking around to make sure they hadn't been followed.
