Xehanort is not at that level yet, he still needs to focus on his violence to pull it off to any degree, and at this very moment he is absolutely focused on beating the thing dragging itself out of the ground with as much viciousness as he can manage.
Which is quite a bit, honestly, he's got a dark streak as wide as anyone's on the train. But blunt damage is only going to get so far, apparently, as he's only marginally slowing it down. It still heaves itself out of the ground, visibly battered along the head and one shoulder where the strength of strikes had caved in bone and flesh, but it's still moving. On the ground it looks like some hideous combination of rat, mole and feline, with way too many teeth.
Murphy, above, might be at a better angle to do something about it than Xehanort's singleminded violence.
