The child seems hesitant, and who wouldn't be? This strange being that's appeared, standing on two feet, speaking the same language as them. Fear still clings to them as they do the animal, which wiggles in its hold, crying, wanting to search its mother. Reluctance in the child to trust.

"A-are you," they swallow, "are you from the outside? Did you chase the storm? Did you come to help us?"
This new theory seems to make sense to the child more than anything else, that there's a rush to the questioning, a hope. Strange-faced as this person might be, didn't they always talk about what others out there could look like?
