He knew the blast was coming but that didn't mean he had enough time to react to that and everything going on around him. Luckily he didn't have to as someone took the initiative to pull him away from the blast zone.

He would typically take offense to suddenly being picked up but for now he will have to endure. "Thank you." At least he can show some appreciation to the one who has saved him. At least it seems the smaller birds have been neutralized for now.
