Birds were taken down by those on the airship with song and sword. The final moments of fighting are intense but soon there are no more birds coming from the storm and indeed the storm is nothing but dust, floating away in the air.

Below the fire bird vibrates with greater intensity before there is a loud boom! An explosion of fire and heat, rocking the ground, flaming feathers burst out, as sharp as those from the steel wing as they fly out and upwards.

The air ship lurches again with the blast. One of the younger fighting Sali is thrown clear off the side, to be rescued by a dragon to the relief of his fighting companions.

All is quiet as the smoke clears, a few smouldering feathers floating to the ground.
