Curufin nods. "I'm sure there is a report somewhere. The Ministry Inspectors boarded the train once, many many months ago, and they entered every sleeping compartment and interviewed the occupants. I was alarmed at the armed Inspectors coming in with weapons and without being invited, and I pulled out my sword. I eventually put it down because I didn't want my roommates to get shot. After they verified our identities, they told us we could go to a Ministry office and file a complaint about being taken from our worlds without our permission and given the job of Void Warriors without training. My roommate Arataka Regan wanted to go, and I didn't want him to go alone, so I went with him. When we got there, he filled out and signed the papers."
He remembers that event so well. "But I have different feelings about being a Void Warrior than many of the other passengers do. For me, it's been a bonus. I get to go on the train's missions and help people, and for me, that is a satisfying existence." He pauses.
"But on to my questions. The Ministry seems to have an issue with unregistered Voidcraft, and I'm wondering why? Do you fear we might be pirates?"
