Curufin nods. "As I was saying, you obviously work hard. It's probably just as well that you're here to meet one-on-one with people, though. There are others besides me, I assume."

"Pleased to meet you, Ten-Nank." He grasps the Ministry official's hand gently in greeting. "If we ever meet again, I won't worry about it if you don't remember everything I've said."

And with respect to Ten-Nank's comment in Elvish, his face shows astonishment and delight, and he replies, "That's a phrase in Sindarin, the Elvish dialect that was most common in my world. Apparently, there are Elves in other parts of the multiverse, or you wouldn't know the words. It's a greeting to a friend, and I don't find it rude that you use it. To me, Sindarin is a very familiar language. I learned to speak it as soon as I was exposed to it, and it became the norm for me and my family. If you have the vocabulary and syntax in your mind, feel free to speak it. Just if you feel like it."

And then he speaks a sentence in Sindarin that means This is most interesting!
