Yondu's more private than he lets on. He's one of those people that spills information about things that don't matter to him that sound like they should matter, and then withholds others. Tobirama has learned more about him in a short period of time than most ever have. Partially because he had information divulged he wouldn't want to share; Yondu offered his own up sooner than he would have ordinarily to level the playing field. That story he told emotionally exhausted him, and the admissions afterward were like dragging himself to shore and not quite making it.

It's actually lucky his son was never brought to the train because all of the commentary made about what kind of bastard he was would have ruined his reputation before he could try and build another that wasn't founded on blood and fear.

He avoids saying she must have known something was up, but the point is that... well, he's almost jealous with the way Tobirama can just forge on without needing that kind of closeness. But then he remembers that the man had plenty of other affection from more certain places.

And, well, Yondu's just plain old deep-fried fucked up.

But his brow raises when he offers to do something with him. He doesn't know why. Maybe it's 'cause in the usual context of 'asking out', the way it'd been described to him anyway, it was two people feeling each other out in emotions and intentions. But you know what? They're still friends. He's glad to do shit with him. He's going to stop looking into it too deeply 'cause he doesn't want to mess this up and he's so very damn good at messing up.

"Well that wouldn't take any special sorta askin'. I'd go have a look around with ya, easy. It was always the best part of travellin'."
