He has never heard of any of the places she talks about and doesn't know what their food might be like. But he does know how to compare it to things he has had and it certainly is on the stronger scale of things he has tried. There is nothing wrong with the added flavor. It's better then some of the food people make on the train.

"If you are going to try into your food I might lose my appetite." He is not one for people who cry. He doesn't have a sympathetic bone in his body and he holds no such sentiments about his home. He has nothing left for him there and no reason for tears.
