(Perhaps for standard mortals they were also sky art, but for a dragon, it seemed a nuisance or a weapon and then that became a training method, and no, he didn't want to dodge fireworks, thank you, imagination.)

Gesturing up, he was partly lit by the burst of blue light that followed, lending him an almost Rembrandt quality of shadow against the stark, partial planes of his face.
