However, he's seen that human women seem to have a thing about dieting from his time on Earth, even if he doesn't understand it.

There were strange Earthling back home too; multiple eyes, a range of powers, animal people. None of it was weird to an alien who was used to being around a range of other aliens, but so far the Earthlings on this train seemed pretty... standard for the most, at least in appearances.
