Ryo hesitates, taking a moment to examine that invitation and make sure it is what he thinks it is, before taking the newly vacated seat next to Otoha. He takes an extra moment of thought to stow the plate of fruit in his borrowed arms band rather than run the risk of dropping it like he nearly had.

His breathing hitches for a moment at the question, and he looks down, as though the answer he needs is on the ground somewhere. He can't be sure of himself, not when earlier he'd been so sure and still so wrong- he doesn't know the right thing to say- he can't argue for fear of it being the wrong thing- Otoha had said he wasn't angry but that doesn't mean Ryo won't make him angry- he can't lose Otoha the way he'd lost Thanatos-

He hunches his shoulders as though he's trying to hide in plain sight and his expression crumples. He doesn't have the right answer, and he's too scared to try one that might be wrong.
