Lan Wangji was in the process of setting up an equalizer when Wei Ying goes streaking past. It makes his hands fumble slightly as he becomes momentarily distracted. He doesn't understand a lot of technology but he doesn't understand missions and magic. He knows that this is important for getting this world back on track.

But he also is very aware of the fact that there is a lot of dead here and his abilities would be better spent elsewhere. Especially considering that someone important to him just went running past with a far too familiar symbol on his body in a strange sort of deja vu.
