Of course it would make sense to not immediately try and touch a god or something, for people that would care or use half a brain cell. As Jolyne has neither of these things, it comes as a bit of a shock to have her strings basically evaporated. Which, given the nature of her Stand, is making her fingers burn like utter hell for a minute.

Which works out quite nicely for her in hindsight since the flinch and squeezing her eyes shut to handle this new pain saves her from immediate blinding. That dumb Joestar luck, or something.

It doesn't take her long to pick up on Emporio's being near, the familiar feeling of the Stand being enough to give her a heads up while rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand for residual light nonsense.
