"It's not about their perceptions exactly." Kiyoiri doesn't look at Idia as she speaks- looking out to the lounge and staring as people chat and enjoy their drinks.

"...It's about memory, of any kind. We are shaped by what we remember. By what we experience, even slightly. And more than that, you had expectations when we came here," she remarks with a look back to the other, a slow blink as much emotion as she seems to put into it. "...In other words, control over the memories of other people...that still affects you, directly."

The girl leans back in her seat and looks away again, eyes distant. "There are very few things we can truly control in life. Even fewer ways to control what we perceive at all. The chance to remember even the worst of things is what lets us have the chance to enjoy other things as well, but the chance to remember, period, is something that alters the very view of reality. Even if you think you left no mark here, you yourself felt there had been enough to know these people in some way.

"Friendship, passing face...no matter what, I can't understand someone who would look at anything and say 'better it be as if this never existed at all'."

Her tone is dark with those words. Something personal was struck, perhaps enough to cloud them. Still, she sighs, adjusting the pack she carries with her for the sake of something to do. "...You speak of it as if it's an inevitability." Perhaps Idia doesn't think he does- all he's done is put on a front, and accurately guess what happened, but still. "...What about your unconsciousness would warrant something this extreme to begin with? ...No...perhaps the bigger question, is why the inevitability of being 'erased' ever existed at all."
