"What she wanted, what she desired, what she asked. All I get are excuses."
Her sympathy, her small kindness, deflates as she takes in these two old gods. So old, so many more years on this world than her. And yet, so--so set in their ways. So ready to make a mess of things for their own reasons. Instead of anger, instead of fury, there is just a quiet sad disappointment.
"Clearly you betrayed her enough to allow Zagreus through. Once or more than once. I could have swore..." She turns her head slightly as if in thought, then shakes her head. It's probably time nonsense.
"I'm so tired of beings who make everyone else deal with their problems. You--send a note with Zagreus. Stop killing him to keep him from her, she wants to see him. The door is opened, the way is there to speak to her, use your brain and put pen to paper to tell her how you feel, how you screwed up."
And then she turns to Nyx, "And you--it was immensely kind to help her. I have a friend who would do such things for me, basically no questions asked. But he would still give me information that I need. He wouldn't leave me alone without a clue of what had happened, wouldn't let me find out however many years later that my son lived and everyone thought I wouldn't give a damn about him. You are also a mother. Do you not care for your children in the slightest? Do you not think that the grief that drove her from this realm would be lifted in the slightest by his rebirth? No?"
Persephone takes a deep breath and runs her hands through her hair. Her hand snags on a petal and she mutters, "Sugar snaps."
"I'm going up. I heard there were fields." Unsaid is the implication that his realm better not fight me on this journey.
