The focus on Eva as they move through the city -Senku is very much an asset, here- brings images and voices from her past. Most are fleeting visions of life in all the good, the bad, and the ugly. The highs and the lows.
Some linger, though.
A small child plays with a group of friends -and a younger, more active Skeeta- in a flower-strewn field under the watchful eyes of her father and a strange, almost giraffe-like creature that's barely 5' at the shoulder. It's a happy time, but the searchers will know the man is alert. They're not far from town, but that means nothing in a world of monsters.
The next one is chaotic, but it's clearly a battle. A pair of children - Eva and Satoru, not yet the people they will become-, working together as they help pin down a full-grown adult -a Rocket, one with a gun (had one... but that hand is ruined..), and red eyes that don't match the shock of blue hair- as police swarm a popular battle spot known as Nugget Bridge. A sting, it seems, designed to capture as many Rockets as possible. The pair simply in the wrong place at the right time.
The last images are... heartbreaking. A purple creature's rage and might on display as humanity fights a losing battle. A stadium - a city, really- in ruins, surrounded by death. The brutal, unthinkable aftermath of something gone horribly, horribly wrong as the survivors pick through the ruins. The purple beast isn't in sight, but... they get a flash of a terrified, stricken brown-haired teenager as she hides a masterball in her bag.
Yet, through this all, the closer they get to Eva (she can't, yet, be seen, but she is near, now), the more one mind sharpens. This one feels sapient... and dangerous.
CW: Implications of child danger, death references.

How do they proceed?
