Re: picking up chicks

As they got closer, he realized he wasn't looking at a person, but rather some other sort of animal that a bunch of the dralite chicks had taken a liking to for some reason. The poor thing was clearly trying its best, but it was obvious it was having a hard time moving with all of them clinging to it. Well that wouldn't do. Maybe he could at least disentangle a few of them.

He approached cautiously, not wanting to scare the animal. It wasn't until he got a closer look at it that he realized what he was looking at though. It was a unicorn. A real, honest to God unicorn. True, it didn't look exactly like the traditional picture of such a creature, but it was a horse-like animal with a single horn, walking with a certain grace despite its burden; what else was there to call it? He was just sorry Luisa wasn't there to see it; she'd always loved fairy tales as a little girl, and from his listening in the walls, he knew what she'd never quite given that up.

No, focus, Bruno. It was time to help, not gawk. He wasn't sure how exactly one should approach a unicorn, so he opted for treating it like he would a skittish horse. "Well, you look like you've got your hands full there," he said gently, extending an open hand, palm up for the creature to sniff, keeping his voice soft, his movements slow and steady. "Or your hooves, I guess. I could try and help you out with that, if you'll let me."
