Honestly, it's a little on Alice, if not mostly on Alice. Even though she had her own definite reasons for not being able to leave the train, she hadn't wanted to bother the people who left the train with those, other than saying she just couldn't leave.
She just didn't want to throw her own problems on anyone else's shoulders, especially not as the last thing they'd remember from her.
