Roland takes a deep breath and runs after Inigo, eyes roaming the immediate perimeter to ensure nothing nasty would ambush them as they crossed the distance. No matter how used a world is to these kinds of things, it's best to err in the side of caution at all times.
Eventually, Roland manages to catch up to him, not quite out of breath yet feeling the strain already. The path curved downhill, so there was more effort in preventing a nasty fall than anything else.
"Okay. Let's figure out where we can find one of these chinchillas. The map should give us an idea...Maybe around here, where there seems to be taller trees?"
It's not the most welcoming forest, not by a long shot. He hopes Inigo stays close to him as he studies the resources more carefully, though it doesn't escape his notice that without even stepping too deep into the redwood, Roland can already feel a change in the air. He holds Inigo's hand while he has the chance.
"We're gonna need to play it safe, okay pup? No heroics for now. We just want to see what one chinchilla can do."
