"I think it's less that they don't think about it, and more that it just doesn't occur to them that they might be potentially useful in that area," Leia said. "And because they don't think they'd be helpful, or that they'd be more useful elsewhere, they avoid it. After all, when you spend most of your time using your superhuman strength to punch things in need of punching, or your enhanced speed to dodge attacks, it's easy to forget that they could also be used to carry large quantities of supplies or make quick work of plowing a field."
