Thanks to Roland's clash with the monster, the civilians have made distance, or mostly. One's stopped with Tidus, giving a warning about how 'that thing won't stop 'til it's dead!'
He has a pitchfork in hand, but Tidus nods and jerks his head. "Alright, we've got it. Keep going, alright? Protect the other people!"
It's a distraction that lasts just a few seconds before Tidus can look back and see where Roland is, how he's doing. Still in the midst of fighting, rolling to get out of the way of an attack and another following. Tidus breaks into a sprint to get closer, just as the call comes.
"They're fine!" He's pulling up the weapon, and starts taking potshots for the outstretched limb grasping at Roland's blade; lacking the precision of it was a blitzball, not having Roland's same skill with a gun, but the near-infinite amount of bullets gave enough to tear into the limb, ripping into it.
Too bad that the monster didn't really care about pulling back - but maybe if Roland did, he'll be able to get back his sword - and a claw, too.
