Rezo is, perhaps fortunately for Lioriley, entirely oblivious.
Her chuckle manages to coax a smile from him and he listens to her rustling about in the remains of the spider plant for a moment before rejoining her.
“I may just borrow your strategy next time, but thank you.”
He gets to work without complaint, reassured that at least they’ve gotten through one disaster relatively unscatched. And more importantly, that they know what to do if it happens again.
For the next little while, Rezo is content to work his way through the patch, snipping and stashing the blooms away until he has a nice little pile in his sack. Presently, when he stops being able to find any more, he straightens, turning in the direction he can hear Lioriley moving about.
“Do you see any other flowers,” he asks, “Or do you suppose we’re done here?”
