Rezo drops the shielding spell and, with a speed that is perhaps surprising coming from a priest, leaps forward, using an air spell to propel himself towards Lioriley. He maybe uses more velocity than is required; certainly, the way he winds up half-tackling her when he grabs her is less than elegant.

He’s not exactly trying to knock her over. He simply wants to get her into his arms, safe, as fast as possible, before their opponents have time to regroup. And when he feels his own feet slip, well, that’s when he tightens his arms around her and recasts levitation.

And if she wants to yell at him, then at least they’ll have time for that while they gently float to the ground.
