There was just a hint of bitterness at it, in his voice though not in his expression. Aden was used to being able to slip off into the shadows. It was what he'd been trained to do. Had been his whole career for well over a decade. While Chiss weren't exactly a common sight outside of the Ascendancy even in his own world, there were plenty of other blue aliens and aliens in general that made it easy to blend in.
So it was frustrating both to be on the train and standing out, but also frustrating to learn that this would be a trend even when visiting other worlds.
"We'll have to wait and see, I suppose. I expect you to keep me in the loop. About training the kids too, I'd be willing to lend a hand if needed. It's distasteful, I think. Expecting children to go through stuff like this."
Children were adaptable little shits for the most part. Could handle a lot of stuff. Didn't mean they should have to though. Didn't mean it was right. But not much they could do about it, except teach them how to slip away from danger if they needed to.
"And I do believe that's wise, yes. No telling if they're the most reliable one indeed."
Aden's voice always had a cold and professional sort of lilt to it, but now there was a bit of approval too. Yondu hardly needed it of course, but it was still nice to be reminded that he wasn't alone in being distrustful, so it was there nonetheless.
