Sliced as it is, its wounded state apparently doesn't give consideration to the monstrosity to stop, to give in. However, Roland's distraction does give Tidus the opportunity to bounce away - though 'distraction' doesn't seem to be a lot for a mindless being.
But, slowing down? Slowing down is something Tidus can do, hearing the command and taking in what amounts of their foe, and dashing in. From not too far from the pair, Gibbers has formed a gang of little friends with him, throwing their tiny spears of water and attacks at the voidblob to show that they're helping, blue needles sticking into the gelatinous form - ineffective, by the way the blob doesn't react.
Tidus comes in with a spell, a clenched fist and a hurried cast that takes effect as Tidus throws it as his foe. Silver rings show clock hands dragging backwards, a haze that surrounds and keeps with the creature. It slows it, if not much else, but Tidus is there with his blade again with a stab into the gooey substance of its body. It's thick, hard to pull out of, but Tidus tries for digging it after feeling the initial resistance, and then yanks out his sword for real as the creature seems to turn on him.
The slow is doing some work, but it doesn't stop everything. It doesn't kill the creature's bizarre ability to bring out more limbs - even that of a head, more jaw and teeth than anything else that a creature should have. They lunge, jaw open and grabbing at Tidus's lower leg into a hold that gets a small yell out of Tidus. He pulls back against it, not with all his skin, and for it Tidus gives the damned head a hard kick with his other foot before he makes safer distance.
And there's more legs and limbs reforming, a leg acting as an arm to try and swing at Tidus, but not in a good position to get him.
