Certainly, Rezo hadn’t had cause to use magic on Zelgadis after he’d wound up in the Hellmaster’s Jar. He’d never found out how long he was in that jar and it had felt like forever, but from how little Lina and Gourry seemed to have changed it probably wasn’t more than a few years.
“...It was nothing,” Rezo says. Because it wasn’t, really, just the kind of Recovery spell that Rezo could probably do in his sleep.
Rezo’s head is still bowed over Zelgadis’s arm, his expression thoughtful.
He could ask Zelgadis, he realizes. Zelgadis would know how long it had been between Rezo’s first death and everyone finding the Hellmaster’s Jar. Only, it isn’t strictly necessary for Rezo to know, and he thinks they have an unspoken agreement not to interact outside of what is important.
So when he takes a step back, what Rezo asks instead is “Is there anything else you need?” As if it’s at all likely that Zelgadis has some other injury that Rezo hasn’t noticed.
