For a second, when Allen said he liked him too, Daia's face lit up just a little, only to be crushed. Did he just get friend-zoned? He's pretty sure he got friend-zoned. Not quite where he was expecting that to go, but then, what else could he have expected?

He just wished that Allen hadn't started with And I like you.

And then he remembers he's looking like someone took his dog away, and forces himself to smile. (Are those tears forming in his eyes? He tries to ignore them, and hopes Allen will, too.)
