Things start clicking into place as Thanatos says them. He'd already taken a senzu bean - that explains why his wings are away, even though they'd been out and potentially injured in the fight. Thanatos has already taken care of himself. Good. "Okay."

Relief starts to sink in, and exhaustion along with it, about the time Thanatos guides him closer to the wall, and he leans heavily against it. The exhaustion doesn't quite take his knees out from under him, but it's close. How much of himself did he pour into that connection during the battle? Not enough to knock him out entirely - he wouldn't be standing otherwise - but definitely enough to knock him sideways. Or maybe it's the relief of no longer being in imminent, existence-ending danger. Or maybe it's both. Either way, it's enough to make him grateful for the wall, and for Thanatos's help.

...Thanatos's help. That's right-

He opens his satchel and turns the flap over. There, pinned to the underside and reinforced with a few careful stitches around the hanging beadwork, is the poppy pin Thanatos had made him. He'd kept it full, but had never needed to use it - not with the abundance of healers and medical supplies on the train. But now...

He lays his hand over it, tapping into the energy he'd stored there and drawing it back into himself, and sighs as some of the exhaustion eases. It's not enough - he's still going to need to rest - but it'll keep him on his feet for a while, and in the moment, that's what he needs. He looks up at Thanatos and offers him a smile. "Thank you." For the pin. For helping. For...everything, really.
