In the immediate aftermath of his murder, no one is quite certain what to do about Joscelin Fitzthomas. He is, quite clearly, dead. There is a gaping hole in his chest where the laser bolt shot straight through him, destroying his heart in the process.

He had been right after all: space does kill vampires.

Someone has covered his small corpse with a spare flight suit in lieu of a sheet, but he’s been left where he fell, eyes wide and staring at nothing.

There is no sign of his killer.
