Under the Sea: Mission start

After fleeing the strange shapes in the sky the voidtreckers are perhaps not looking forward to yet another mission and indeed the first few days of Fiddlesticks go by without any strange dreams, no warning that another mission might be nigh. Yet on the morning of day five their SCA's will glow with the colours of the void and a holographic message will appear.

Preperations

The dressing room is open once again, though the clothes this time are simple in choice. A wet suit for each void trecker as well as a pair of flippers, a helmet and a breathing pack. It at least has instructions and there will be a little bit of time for them to figure out how to use them. Apart from that there are some waterproof packs for supplies to be packed in.

They will have a couple of hours to get ready for their mission.

Arrival: Blue and Red

"We are now approaching world #7625000129523. Drop order is Red and Blue, Purple then Orange. Red and Blue team to doors. Arrival in world #7625000129523 in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."

The train shudders and lurches as they exit the void, the view from the window goes from the ever shifting void to a beautiful deep blue sky. They fly through the air and swoop down to land on a sandy beach. The doors open allowing those who are taking part in the Blue and Red missions to debark. The doors close and the train swoops up into the air.

The beach stretches from one side to the other, in the distance as the beach turns into sloping green hills they can see a village. Beyond that there is a jungle. Any red team who check their SCA will see four points, the rock pools.

The villagers have noticed the huge train sweeping down onto their island and so contact is made quickly. They will be quite accepting of the help and explain the situation. They will help any of red team to the rockpools if asked.

Red

The rockpools are built up and indeed made so the water will reach a persons waist if they stand in them. The water is cold but not overly so. When the water shoots up anyone in them will shoot up also.

They will find themselves in a vortex of water, with anyone else who enters that rockpool. The water itself seems to be fighting them, tendrils of water reaching out of the whirlpool to try and drag them further into the chaos. It takes a whole lot of willpower to stay in the centre, the water can be fought with weapons, even with fists. They feel as if they are falling or flying, perhaps both. Surrounded by the pure chaos of the ocean.

Blue

Hopefully they spend the day helping with preparations because when night falls the monsters emerge from the sea. Terrifying twisted creatures. The villagers only have simple weapons but will tell them that fire is helpful against these water creatures.

Hold off the monsters and keep the people safe.

Purple

The doors close and the train flies off into the sky, flying over the island to the other side where it lands on a rocky bay, near tall towering cliffs.

"Purple team to doors." The doors open, allowing the purple team to disembark before flying off once again.

In the cliff face there is a large cave entrance, over the entrance there are symbols, translated by their SCA's. Clear mind, clear heart. Come those who seek to serve.

There are six people stood by the entrance, looking quite surprised at the new arrivals. One, a woman with silver hair recovers enough to speak first. "Ah. Void warriors. We are honoured by your help."

Once introductions are made the spiritual leaders will happily accept the escort and their adventure can begin.

Orange

They fly up and out across the ocean, a longer flight than before but eventually they descend and there is a slight juddering before they land, floating on the ocean.

"Orange team disembark, please use luggage or dressing carriage doors only."

They will step out onto an inflated platform that streches around the train. Down below are the depths of the water and their SCA's show them at the point of Bui. It is below them so all they need to is dive.

The dive takes a while, and depends on their swimming ability but hopefully with a bit of teamwork they arrive at the silent city of Bui.

Her eyes sharpen slightly at the description (the term she doesn't know, but the practice isn't entirely unfamiliar; the Noldor are not the only people to have ever chosen to enchant stone and gem).

"Does it primarily operate as a focus, then? Or does it have power on its own?"

It's not personal; Zelda's powers are a complicated subject, and one that she is used to keeping to herself unless necessary. Like many other things about her land, to be honest.

On the other hand, she knows he wants information (if not precisely now, then in general); she knows that this is not an illegitimate desire, for the most part. So she considers, and says, "Some spells come easier than others, and I've always found light easy to call upon at need. But I couldn't say why this works when foresight doesn't."

It does feel odd, actually, the idea that they might be separate. Prophecy and light manipulation are the oldest manifestations of her magic, peeping their heads up before she bore Wisdom's mark on her hand or the mantle of a Sage on her back. But that does not mean she has answers any more than Curufin does.

"Of course," she nods, and turns to follow.

"Yes." He nodded, helping everyone has what they need was what he was trying to do. He fears it won't be enough but it will be definitely be better than nothing.

"Are you going to be staying with the islanders tonight?"

"Wield them?" He blinked at her sadly, "Like a weapon?"

His stomach twists at the thought of turning this fire from a prevention into a weapon. But he can ignore it, he knows there has to be fighting here, to stave off these monsters.

[Dyme almost laughed, too, but it would have been in disbelief.]

Uh. I can give it my best shot? I'm not really a monster fighter, but.

[But he was here, and so long as he wasn't alone, he wouldn't run away. Unless that was decided to be the best course of action.]

Dyme was so used to people being frustrated with him that he didn't even bat an eye. For not being able to properly defend himself yet, he sure was keen on charging headfirst into danger, and he was aware that it wasn't always the smartest thing to do.

"I'm gonna do my best to stay out of any kind of harm's way, for sure. I know dying won't help anyone. Besides, if I'm dead, then I can't help anyone, either." Which would seriously impede his desire to be useful.

"I don't." He blinked at him sadly, "I've never done anything like this before... So I can just do as those in the village and those that have been in similar situations before say."

Lord Gyousou knows what he is doing and Taiki doesn't doubt that those who call these islands their home know best how to protect it.

Lea nodded. "My team's gonna be on the beach apparently, keeping an eye out for monsters monsters," he said. "Probably the best place for me on a mission like this, honestly; I can swim alright, but my thing is fire, so I'd be a lot less useful underwater. And if there's one thing I know how to do, it's fight monsters."

The comment about last time had him quirking a questioning eyebrow though. "Oh? What happened last time?"

"Exactly like that." She nodded at him, "As if there is something between us and the spiritual energy all around us."

She frowned, "Is it that there are those amongst your number who are equally spiritually attuned?"

Lea's grin broadened a bit as the other man's shouting had the desired effect. The creature turned its attention from Lea to him, snarling. And it was apparently angry enough that the torch wasn't as intimidating as it once was; it began to advance slowly, somewhat awkward due to a combination of its aquatic nature and it injury.

Fortunately for Dyme, his distraction gave Lea the moment he needed to pour more power into his chakrams, turning them into wheels of fire. He then sent them spinning at the creature one follow directly by the other. The first aimed for its head, the second for one of its hind legs. Both found their mark, and the creature let out a pained roar, badly staggered and now blinded in one eye.

"Alright!", Lea said. "He didn't like that! Keep at it just a little longer; one or two more hits like that, and I think we've got him!"

"Absolutely."

Glorfindel smiled at her. "It's pretty much the Team Purple motto, right?"

He wasn't sure how effective the whole bashing it thing was, mostly because he knew nothing about these creatures and how tough they were. All he really knew was that fire was supposed to work on them, and that...was pretty much it. But it didn't stop him from doing his best to help, while also trying to stay out of Xion's way.

When the creature lunged in his direction, he crammed the flaming end of the torch in its mouth, which surprisingly stuck, resulting in the thing screeching in rage, and he assumed, pain, before staggering. It was still kicking, but he'd consider it 'definitely distracted and hopefully in some kind of pain' which felt almost mean to be hopeful for, before he remembered exactly what they were dealing with.

"I've literally never put on one of these things before," he explained. "They make it look easy in the movies." If they actually showed people suiting up, and there wasn't just a cut to people swimming.

"Magic, huh? I'm still working on getting used to that." He felt like he was adjusting pretty well, but sometimes things still felt pretty surreal.

"That would be a pain," Glorfindel agreed. He went back to petting those soft little ears. "I am glad your ability prevents weird little accidents like that."

Lea grinned right back. He hadn't been referring to his Keyblade, of course, though near as he'd been able to understand, they did have a vague sort of will of their own. They might even be considered alive in a certain sense, though he was less certain about that.

"Heh, yeah, I guess you're right," he said, dismissing his weapon, which vanished into sparkles of light. "Just kind of pulled it out on reflex when I saw your friend there appear. Back where I'm from, shadows rising up and turning into creatures with yellow eyes generally doesn't mean anything good. Though Heartless aren't something anyone would want to hug either."

Glorfindel nodded. "Many of us. I don't think this will affect most of my abilities, but I can get no feel for the future right now, nor can I reach anyone via my mind. It is...uncomfortable. But I'll manage." He smiled at her. "Needs must, right?"

He chuckled. "Well yes, bit if I did it right, the skin of the head would remain intact. Still trying to figure out how Darkmist does it so neatly. Ah well, apparently I'll have plenty of targets to practice it on," he said, cheerfully.

Yes, well some people don't feel they need a bright glowing keyblade to announce their presence to the world. Like his height wasn't enough? He needed more attention?

Xion, of course, had never lost the habit of trying to remain unseen. And she was a little too good at being forgotten. She took the assist and while its attention was split managed to slide right in under the shoulder. If it could be called that. With the writing limb inches above her face she focused her magic through her Keyblade. "THUNDAGA!"

Hey, it was the first spell she got back a the school. That made it a new favorite.

That was a good point. 47 would have preferred more time to analyze, or, even better, for an analyst to already have the information for him, ready to whisper it into his ear via comm link. How long would this take? Was it random or did it keep a typical schedule? He hadn't asked the locals to accompany them since all he really needed was a direction and the less people he had to babysit the better. So they weren't available to ask for detail, if they had any.

They would simply have to wait. They knew it was coming, it was just a matter of when. He hoped they wouldn't get too complacent in the meantime. He didn't want to deal with panicked teammates as the rush of water occurred.

And if one asked him, this was the worst design for a portal ever.

To Sven he simply said, "Just keep your guard up."

Xion got several good blows in before the monster flung her back and away. She skidded on the sand then rushed forward again. It didn't occour to her to ask Ple Two for hlpe. Not that she didn't need it, she was just... not used to working with strangers who WOULD.

[personal profile] nobodys_puppet 2020-05-15 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well that actually.... helped. Not that she was about to say anything, either way. While it was thrashing she backed up, then charged to slide under it, slamming her Keyblade up at the soft underbelly.

Sadly these kinds of weapons weren't something one could walk into a store and buy. But explaining them would take way too long for the current situation, so Lea just flashed Tidus another grin before turning his attention back to the matter at hand.

He took aim at two crabs the were near each other and sent both chakrams flying, hitting each crab at an angle that sent it crashing into the other one before the weapons came spinning back to their owner's hands. And while the two half-stunned crabs tried to disentangle their many limbs, Lea once again dismissed one chakram to launch a fireball, though this time hitting both crabs with one shot. Once again, the crabs met a burnt, twitching fate.

"I know right?", he said at Tidus' comment. "I mean, there's not even any garlic butter."
