A City Falls: Start
Preparation
Just after light on the seventh day of the month of Bassoon everyone’s SCA glows with the colour of the void before showing a message. A briefing for the mission to come.
Anyone who goes to investigate the dressing carriage will find all the cupboards and drawers open. They may need to battle through spider webs but soon will find an array of clothes. Trousers, skirts, dresses, shirts, robes, cloaks. Everything they will need and plenty of choice. All the clothes have accents of team colours in more muted hues than the normal bold hoodies they wear.
A few hours later there is an announcement over the speakers. "Arrival to Planet #25768 imminent. Prepare for exit from Void. Drop order: Purple, Orange, Red, Blue. All passengers are to wear their Safety Control Apparatus and are reminded that emergency evacuation protocol is three short taps."
The train shudders and jerks. It is time.
Purple
"Purple Team to doors. Drop in two minutes. Purple team to doors."
The train flies down through the air before coming to a stop between two rocky outcrops. The doors hiss open, it’s a bit of a jump down to the ground and anyone who looks back will find the train hard to see. Not invisible but definitely cloaked, shifting to blend in with the rock.
They can hear the sound of many footsteps and the high sound of young voices. It is easy to hear where they need to be.
As they move down the rocky slope they will see the main pass. A large group of children are walking. Spirits are high even if it is clear they are on their guard. Older teens are wearing weapons, swords, the odd axe, a few daggers. Nothing expertly crafted but they all wear them with ease. Slightly younger children carry the very young, toddlers and those too young to walk and keep pace.
There’s a sound from in front of the group. From around the corner a girl, about thirteen years old, runs towards them. Her braids bounce against her shoulders, her eyes are wide with fear and she waves her hands at the others. “Run! Run!”
A shadow looms behind her, a winged wolf, gaining speed towards her. Sat on the wolf is a spear wielding goblin.
From all around them a growling of many more wolves, in the hills, close and ready to pounce.
Orange
Once Purple Team are gone the train flies again. "Orange Team to doors. Drop in two minutes. Orange Team to doors."
The train seems to be still concealed as it hovers at the city walls. There’s a bit of a jump onto the walls but at least they are near one of the staircases down into the city.
Also luckily no one seems to have seen them appearing out of no where though that has more to do with the general chaos rather than anything else!
There is a lot of chaos! People evacuating, animals everywhere, people looking lost and bewildered. Get herding or helping and encourage people up that cliff path!
Red
The train flies onward. "Red team to doors. Drop in two minutes. Red team to doors."
The train makes a slightly bumpy landing on a rocky slope. Scrambling up the slope red team will see a group of fighters, perhaps eighty in total. There are some supplies to the side, not yet allotted. Some horses and weapons. All the fighters are currently focused on a tall woman who is on horseback, facing them from the front.
“… Say those that stand here, as few as we may be were the ones who end the goblin menace on our lands for good. For our children and our families. We fight!”
The end of what was clearly a rousing speech, the fighters cheer. They begin to move over the slope, towards the goblin camp below. If you are joining this battle the time is now!
Blue
The train flies low, skimming over the lake. "Blue Team to doors. Drop in one minute. Blue Team to doors."
Jumping down off the train they will land in the shallows of the lake. It’s not deep enough to go over their boots and now too far to wade to shore. The shore is rocky, loose rocks and pools of water to avoid. The tower stands before them. Three goblins, riding wolves perch on the walls high above them. The sky above crackles with lightning that is not at all natural.
The doorway to the tower is open, there are a lot of stairs to get up. The howls of the wolves fill the air as the wizards fight them off above. Time to climb!

“Just fine, Spidey, don’t worry about little ol’ me. I’ll heal up un no time. But hey, be a bro and finish ripping this hand off, it’s getting in the way.” he said and cheerfully offered his mostly severed hand to the spider-teen. “We need to move, got goblins starting to flank. Don’t you have experience with these? Or just green ones?
no subject
"Dude! I'm in the middle of a conversation-I don't shoot at you with arrows!" He called at one of the Goblin's who's aim was way off. "What? You want me to rip-I don't think I can do that. I might vomit on you."
no subject
“If you gotta blow chunks, do it on a goblin. Maybe it will scare them?”
no subject
Also, it feels weird. He's never held a hand that's almost completely severed before and he's certainly not enjoying the experience. "You can keep the bones, I still just-Whoa!" He ducks away as another arrow comes to close and has to kick a goblin that's trying a surprise attack.
no subject
"Don't forget your souvenir and keep close. I can take more hits than you can, and if I lose a leg, I need someone to haul my ass back." He turned to start backing away from the advancing group. They were separated from most of the other's on their side and he'd rather not test if they'd leave his ass there if he went down.
"Don't want your keeper throwing me off the train if you take an arrow to the knee."
no subject
He makes a horrified face as it hits him that he's holding a severed hand. A severed. Human. Hand.
"UGH!" Peter cries out, throwing the hand as hard as he can to get it as far away from him as possible. It hits a goblin and apparently knocks it down. Well that was. Unexpected.
"Don't ever ask me to do that again-ohmygod I'm gonna be sick." Peter complains, trying to fight back a bout of bile as he moves.
no subject
“Nice shot, too bad we can’t just give you a pile of hands to th- Holy Canada that hurts you dickholes!” He shrieked as another arrow caught him in the back. “These goblins fuckin’ suck, I wish I had some grenades or something, can’t you web them or something to keep them from firing?”
no subject
"Oh God, that's gross." Peter coughs out. He sure hopes he doesn't manage to get shot right now because he needs a moment and apparently the goblins don't fight fair. Not that he'd expect them to.
He wipes his mouth and winces as Wade is hit with more arrows. They should really think about find shelter or something.
"No webs. I ran out." He coughs out.
no subject
"You gonna make it down there, kid? We need to get you to cover."
no subject
"I-I'm fine. I'll uh-" He heaves again and he knows it's coming right before he feels an arrow lodge its self right into the back of his leg.
"Fuck!" Peter curses loudly. "Oh god. Oh god, oh god-oh god."
no subject
"Shit, kid, why are you such a danger magnet? And don't vomit on me or I will absolutely drop your ass and let the creepy crawlies have you." He warned without heat. They needed to get out of there, the foothills of the mountains were full of cracks and caves.
He did his best to out run the mob, ignoring or unaware of the arrows that managed to hit as he ran.
They slid into a cave, and he attempted to set the kid down gently before whipping around with his sword out to make sure nothing had followed them. After a minute he figured they were probably good, and turned back to Peter.
"How are you doin', Spidey? Not going to pass out or vomit on me, are you?"
no subject
He's set down in a cave flops on to the ground carefully not to jostle the arrow in his leg anymore than he has too as Deadpool woks on taking out anything that might have followed. He takes a deep and looks at the arrow. Uh... how was he supposed to get it out?
Does he break the shaft? He knows that's what they do in books and movies and stuff, why not give it a try? He bites his lip and snaps the shaft.
"Oh man. Oh god. Bad idea. Holy shit. There's an arrow in my leg. Oh my god. I'm gonna die." He mutters to himself, trying not to think about the arrow and how bad it hurts. Fuck does it hurt.
"N-No yeah..." He looks up, probably looking a little pale and sweaty. "Just... not feeling.. awesome, you know?"
no subject
"Hey kid, look at me, don't look at your leg. Do you want me to tell you what we're gonna do, or do you want it to be a surprise? How's your healing factor, huh? Protect you from infections?"
He reached to his boot for a much smaller knife he had swiped from camp, just in case. "Doesn't look like enough blood to be serious, but we'll find out once we get that arrow out." Yeah, that sounded good and adult, he definitely wasn't freaking out about the injured spider-teen in front of him, or what Ironman was going to do to him, or any of those other horrible things.
no subject
"Uh... if your plan involves a needle in any form or fashion probably not." He takes a breath and tugs at his hair a bit. "Just-just get it out 'cause this really fucking hurts and I don't wanna heal around it."
no subject
"How you holdin' up, Spidey, see any goblins coming for us?"
no subject
That is, he's laughing all the way up until that knife goes into his leg, then he lets out a sharp yelp and tries to jerk back and yelps again because that sure didn't help anything.
"Holy Shit." He takes in a breath. "I-I'm good. I'm-" He needs to calm down before he has a panic attack. He glances down to see where there's blood oozing out of his leg. His face places. That was a bad idea. Such a bad idea.
Focus on something else.
"H-hey can-can I tell you a bad chemistry joke? I'd-I'd tell you a good one but they Argon."
no subject
He moved quickly, using the remainder of the arrow shaft to pull the arrowhead out as quickly as possible. “Alrighty, its out and you have a way cooler souvenir from this than some lame finger bones.” He waved the arrow at Peter.
“Gotta clean it up first, but pay attention now, do you know how to wrap up a wound so you don’t go getting alien dirt in it?”
no subject
"I-I was reading a book about helium and I couldn't put it down." He gets out another stupid joke to try not to focus on the pain and looks at the arrowhead covered in his blood.
"I don't think I want it." He says, still looking at it and then looks back down at his leg. That looks bad. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks though, maybe?
"Uh... I can stick a band-aid-well, I can't 'cause I don't have one. But I know how to stick a band-aid on stuff."
no subject
“I am gonna need help with this, though. I need you to to help tie off our MacGuyver bandaid here.” He reaches down to rip the cleanest strip of his weird cloak jacket he can find. “Now, I gotta tell you, normally you don’t take the thing out outside of a hospital, but you can’t move around with it in there, yeah?”
He rips the strip of wool in half and hands half to Peter. “Fold this up for me, it’s gonna have to be our gauze.”
no subject
"Y-yeah, I can-I can do that." He nods again, taking the fabric and folding it as best as he can can.
"What about Disney princesses and Pokemon? Those heal better than anything."
no subject
That was all the warning Peter got before Wade pressed the folded cloth firmly to the wound and holding it down with his stumped arm. With the other he started to wrap the remaining fabric strip around Peter’s leg. “Gimme a hand here, since you took mine, grab the other side we need to tie it tight.”
no subject
He hisses in pain at the pressure on the wound and grits his teeth before looking at it. Is there still any chance that it looks a lot worse than it is? Any?
"Um.. I don't uh.. Yeah, okay." Peter agrees, hoping he has enough control over his strength to not cut off the circulation.
no subject
"You'll be fine, probably, let me know if you go numb or anything and don't panic. As far as wounds go, this one's pretty chill. Didn't get anything major and you aren't dead yet, which is the important thing, right?"
no subject
"I got in trouble like... last mission for cursing in front of Buttercup. I'm tryin' ta like... make sure she doesn't use those words in front of other people 'cause I'm pretty sure I'll get grounded if she does."
no subject
"Don't think we should hang out here long, how goods your healing factor? Don't need to be 100%, just need to move."
