On day Ten of the month of Fiddlesticks the SCA's light up and a holographic screen appears.

It has three options.

Talk to All

Talk to Team

Talk to Individual

For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. The short distance radios in their helmets also automatically connect so they can use their SCA communicators without removing life saving equipment!

I believe Bluetooth is not impossible as an option, assuming the Voidtrecker Express keeps this function for the SCAs once the mission is over.

[And while messaging the train itself isn't an option on these things so he can't snark at it for holding out on them, he's still relieved that this Network exists now.]

Likely something only on specific words, though 'wifi' is on the right track. It allows for wireless connection between specific fixed and mobile devices.

I can do it, though maybe not with the electronic scraps we have. We need to collect more, or ask around.

I've got a whole bag full of electronic parts and connectors, collected from the shield station on that space mission. I built a small generator out of some of those parts, but there's plenty left over. Also, you can have the generator if you want it. I'd just have to climb back up these cave stairs and swim back up to the train and get the stuff out of my cabin.

The hard part'll be the SCA. Roro can handle the phone part because he's designed to live in it. Which, if what Webmind-san said, the connection'll be uh, Bluetooth??

Though maybe we should try and get a spare SCA to test this on first?

I have no idea what Bluetooth or wifi are, but if Webmind says Bluetooth can connect a fixed device to a mobile device, I'll believe it.

I don't know where we'd get a spare SCA. The train entity doesn't seem to leave them lying around unattended. But you can use my SCA to test the theory.
