On day Ten of the month of Fiddlesticks the SCA's light up and a holographic screen appears.

It has three options.

Talk to All

Talk to Team

Talk to Individual

For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. The short distance radios in their helmets also automatically connect so they can use their SCA communicators without removing life saving equipment!

[Has no idea if this will work, but picked Prompto's name from the list and sit son his bunk, waiting nervously...]

Prom... Prom? Can you hear me?

Gladdy? Hey! Hey Big Guy! Are you okay? Is Noct with you?

[His eyes close in relief as he slumps forward, gripping the hand with his SCA with his other hand.]

No, he's asleep. Are you alright? Dammit, I'm sorry I wasn't there!

[He breathed a sigh of relief. 'He's asleep' meant Noct was still here, somewhere. He hadn't vanished like Gladio did.]

That's okay but.. what happened? You two were right behind me. Did the train do something to keep you from jumping?

[Gladio shook his head, realised that Prompto couldn't see him, and sighed]

He had Altissia flashbacks. I had to stay behind with him. He... lost it, Prom. Whatever he saw outside the train triggered something bad. I couldn't leave him alone.

[There was a odd tone to his voice then, a need for Prompto to understand, begging him to understand that they hadn't just abandoned him.]

Ooooh! I hadn't even thought of that.

[It made a lot more sense than the ridiculous thought that they'd done something on purpose.]

It's okay. He needed you so that's where you needed to be. I'm where I'm needed too. We've had our hands full here.

Are you gonna be alright? [There's no hiding the worry in his tone]

We need you back in one piece, so be careful out there. You hear me?

Yeah def! I think we're going to have enough seafood for a month after this! We're fighting giant crabs and weirdo shark people.

[His tone turns less jokey.]

I promise, I'm being careful.

[Crabs and shark people? That... didn't sound the best. But he trusted Prompto to let him know if something worse was going on.

He tipped to the side to lay down on his bunk to better talk, just enjoying hearing his boyfriends voice.]

I miss you.

You remember I love you, right?

Even more if you bring crab home with you. [He's trying to tease, maybe not well, but he's trying!]

[Prompto felt his cheeks color, but it was a really good feeling too. He wondered if hearing he was missed would always be special to him now.]

I miss you too. And yes, of course. Always! I didn't think either of you had stayed behind on purpose. I was just worried something had happened to you.

[He laughed at the crab joke.]

I think in some circles if I said I was bringing home 'crabs' it wouldn't be a good thing!

Nothing bad. He's doing better now. Though there's been a storm out here rocking the train, I never knew I could get seasick before.

[Gladio snorted a laugh and shook his head]

Classy, Prompto. Real classy. Try not to bring that kind home, eh? Don't wanna have to wait to decontaminate you before I can get my hands on you.

Would you tell him I miss him and that I'm glad he's okay?

[Pause.]

Really? Where are you? You must not be that far away. There's a nasty storm here too.

[The thought of Glads getting seasick was amusing to a degree, but he also felt bad for him. No one liked to be sick!

He snickered again at his joke, pleased Gladio went along with it. However, the last part surprised him. His light blush from earlier turned into a darker crimson.]

R- really? I like the sound of that! And uh.. I need to talk to you about something too. From before you left.

I'll let him know. [He chuckles] Expect a call like this from him as well.

Really. [Since Prompto he had to rely on his voice, and a warm tone full of promise. Though he smiled a moment later, eyes closing.] You're not breaking up with me, are you?

Awesome!

[He would look forward to hearing from Noct, but he could wait. It was nice to have Gladio's full attention. He was like a cat in a sun spot, basking in the warmth.

He felt a shiver of anticipation run down his spine at Gladio's tone. He bit his bottom lip, wishing for Gladio's heavy weight on him right now. It wasn't fair he had to keep waiting!]

You'd better get your rest now, Gladdy. I don't intend to letting you go for a while once I have you.

[He laughed and shook his head- which, obviously, couldn't be seen.]

No! No, of course not! I just.. it's nothing bad. Don't sweat it okay? I just don't want to forget.

I'll hold you to that promise.

[No, it wasn't fair they had to wait. But it would just make it all the sweeter one he was finally able to get Prompto in his arms again. He hoped it wouldn't be long now.]

Mhm, alright. What did you want to talk about, love?

You'd better.

[He answered in a flirty, giggly tone.]

I've missed you so much!

[He paused as he got a little nervous about the change in topic. He'd thought about doing this later when they were face to face, but it was bothering him and he knew Gladio would fret about it now that it had been brought up.

So his tone was different, more serious next.]

Gladdy.. I um.. I don't think I was being a very good boyfriend before you left. I'm sorry. I knew you weren't having an easy time but I thought if I mentioned it it'd only make you feel bad. When you left though.. I don't know. I just didn't want to ever take you for granted again. I still don't. I mean, what if you and Noct really had vanished? I'm used to you being my rock, but it's not right that I wasn't one when you needed it. So, I'm sorry.

Missed you too, babe. More than I can say. [Because he just didn't know enough words to express just how he felt. But he was sure he could show Prompto, once he was back within his arms.

And then Gladio went quiet. Just listening to Prompto speak. And then wanted his blonde in his arms for a whole other reason.]

Prom, love... honestly? If you'd brought it up I might've brushed it off. I knew something was wrong but I wasn't ready to confront it. I thought I could handle it if I just... kept ignoring it and forcing myself forward. It was stupid and I get it now. But it was never your fault. I never, not for a second, saw you as taking me for granted. You were exactly where you needed to be when I needed you the most, Prom. You were there for me. You were my strength when I couldn't be strong... And I love you all the more for that.

[As he listened, he slowly smiled again. There were also tears and toward the end, Gladio would be able to hear a few sniffles.]

Wow.. really? Glads.. you just.. you make me so happy. I know you're not always happy being on the train but I'm so happy you're here with me. Well.. not 'here' here in the immediate sense but in the on this train adventure sense. Iggy's cool and you know I love Noct but.. it's you that I couldn't live without. If I ever forget how to show it, just know that. Okay? It's not ever going to change.

[He wanted to be there. Wanted to just gather Prompto up and hold him so tight. Especially when all he could hear was his love sniffling.]

Really. [He chuckled, Prompto was babbling and it was so cute.]

I can't live without you either, Prom. And I don't wanna even try and find out what that would be like. Not now I know what having your love feels like. I love you.

[He swipes his eyes with the back of his glove. He was crying but he was so happy too.]

You'll never have to be without it if I can help it!

[Although, technically with Gladio in his past, if they return to their original timeline there would be a point their paths would separate. However, they didn't need to think about that right now.]

So uh.. I know you're on the train for an important reason and all, but you would've had fun on this mission, I think. This beach is really cool and these monsters- you'd be mowing right through them! We're going to have so much seafood when this is done! I bet Iggy will treat us to his Fisherman's Favorite Risotto!

[It might be one of Iggy's favorites and not theirs, but that didn't mean it wasn't delicious. it didn't reach Prompto's top four, but definitely his top ten.]

Or maybe your trout skewers you like! Mmm!
