The chaos reigned around him, the noise of the violence and the smell of blood, the growls of the monsters and the shouts of the voidtreckers fighting. Everything combined to be almost overwhelming to his senses.

He stumbled as he was grabbed again and only partially registered the words. Get it together. He's not sure how to do that. He's already as together as he can be, he's conscious, he's reacting. He is surrounded by chaos and death but he is still upright and there are no tears in his eyes.

The fighting continued, for a long time, too long. It seemed like an age until morning came.
