blitzcheer: (that won't do nancy)

Funny, how life repeats itself. A truth revealed on a mountain, and the same truth repeated for a second time, tucked away inside a dream.

Tidus sits facing out from the mountain, at the view leading into tinted lavender hues, the once silver-sky now washed by the water in how they blend. It's not home, but it's nice, hurts the same as if it were. No matter the colour, it seems water has that effect on him: capable of drawing him in before a life-filled landscape ever will.

It'd be easy to switch where he broods, not have the knot in him tightening like a noose--but it never occurs. Maybe it's the years spent surrounded by the sea: it may hurt, but it's home.

( 'Let us summon a sea in a new dream world,' the Fayth had known to say to soothe him. 'A new sea for you to swim.' )

For whatever reason, he doesn't expect to be disturbed. For whatever reason, he doesn't think, doesn't expect. So when he hears voices, Tidus pays no mind, and doesn't even comprehend the figure coming beside him until Taiki's nearly sat, his head about to turn, but then ducking it back down to hide his face. Not knowing how his eyes might look, his cheeks, though he held down most of the tears.

He waits to speak, being careful, hoping his voice won't give anything away if he keeps it low and simple.

"Taiki... you okay?"
