"That's not a terrible comparison, because you can determine what mineral you're looking at based on the Mohs scale, because if the mineral is already known then it should fit in as expected, if it didn't you're dealing with something else, but that's only helpful when you know what you're looking at. I'm not clear what that rock is, but it's interesting."

Senku blinked at the question and crossed his arms as he considered it.

"Hmm, how best to describe this..I have a hypothesis about the void, you see, well actually, I have a few." He said, his mind kind of going a bit off track before he refocused.

"I doubt that the train itself and the void are the only factors at play here. Why did we stop in this place? For what purpose? There are supplies here, so someone was expecting us to arrive. What kind of communication do they have set up? Are any of these worlds interconnected? Do they share qualities, or common resources?" Senku answered. "Those are just off the top of my head as questions that definitely need exploring, but as this is the first place I've been I need more data points to make some of those determinations, but even if I'm wrong and the stops are not related, we should be able to get a lot of data about how they work."

"Think of how prepared we could be if there were universal constants through all of the stops, if we knew there were certain things shared by each place we visit, we could target specific resources, or maybe find some kind of hint at the mystery behind the whole thing. They might be connected, they might not, but it would be interesting to find out, don't you think?"
