She squinted, trying to think of an easy way to explain the mess that they'd ended up in. "Why'd I do it? If you asked anyone on Cocoon, it's because I was given a Focus by an evil fal'Cie, to become Ragnarok, and destroy 'em all. But if you get down to it, it was because the god controlling Cocoon thought that if he let us kill him, it'd kill everyone in it, and he'd be able to ascend... or some stupid idea. He was the guiding light of Cocoon, after all, and we couldn't kill him without dropping Cocoon out of the sky. So we killed him anyway, and two of us, Fang and Vanille, sacrificed themselves to catch it before it could fall into the planet. Still, no more gods. No more guiding light. Just... people."
She considered. "I guess if you wanted the short answer, it was because they took my sister from me, and then they took away my choices. The whole system was rotten. So we took it down."
