He looks at Leafmon as he says it; he does not look at Ken. Of the two, Ken is the more likely one to realize that Siebren is gently, quietly lying to them.

As much as Ken seems to want to understand - and as much as Siebren wants to be understood - the last thing he wants to do is weigh down this pair with his troubles more than he already has. He will continue to shoulder that burden alone.
