Not with a Bang: Conclusion

The base camp is a mess by the time the fight is over. The heavy rain alone would have been enough, but the battle has churned up the earth itself. The previously peaceful clearing is pockmarked with craters and dark puddles where ash has mixed into rainwater, along with oil and blood that swirl unpleasantly through the shallow pools. The trees are bowed outwards with the force of the powers that waged through the area, trunks shattered and torn, boughs hanging haphazardly or draped with the remnants of tents and equipment.

Perhaps all that can be said is that it gives the Voidtrecker Express a decidedly clear landing spot. The train snakes its way through the jungle, coming to a stop in a familiar, though now lopsided, coil around the clearing, and opening its doors to allow injured to be carried on, or anyone from the train to disembark.

It’s clear that there are indeed people aboard - as the doors hiss open, activity is already visible inside, as well as voices audibly going back and forth over the tinny speakers of the ICP.

Now that the saboteurs are dealt with, the final repairs can be made to the damaged stations and the shields locked into place. By the time they are done, nothing and no one will be able to enter the planet - from space, anyway.

The train will remain in the clearing through the night of Imagination 12 and the morning of Imagination 13, until all the stations are prepared, the pandas returned to their rightful place and everyone has rejoined the train.

By midday of Imagination 13, the train is ready to leave. Everyone gets a message on their SCA to return to the train, if they haven’t already. Once all are onboard the doors shut and the train begins to snake through the jungle.

“Re-entering Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.”

The train rattles and shakes as the greenery around them (and the purple of a few farewell pandas) fade into the colours of the void.

While the control stations are being repaired, Glorfindel wanders among the trees of the Base Camp and repairs them as best he can, lopping off limbs if needed and giving them some encouraging energy and pep talks.

He will take the time to check on all his friends, making sure they are healing quickly, feeding them if they need it. A cheerful smile and some bright happy light are excellent for healing. When they come from Glorfindel, they're even better.

He especially makes time to check on Amra, to make sure she is recovering well, giving her extra pastries to make sure of it.

The other he checks out thoroughly is Curufin. They'd been in different areas during the fight, but he knew his love had been up to the tips of his pretty ears in it, and Glorfindel wanted to make sure he was okay now.

It's been a long mission. Mami could use a nap, but so many people are badly hurt. They need her! She bustles from place to place, through the medical bay and the camp, stopping near anyone she sees who looks injured.

"Excuse me...but you look like you could use some help. May I?"

Unfortunately...by necessity, she overextends herself. Her magical aura is diminished, for those who can sense that sort of thing, and the normally bright-yellow gem set in her ring is a much darker shade now.

She's much more sluggish by the time the train lifts off, her eyes slightly glazed over as she bumps into someone.

"Oh---didn't see you. Sorry."

A hand reaches out to steady Mami at the bump. The healers among them all seem to be ready to pass out on their feet, and she's fully prepared to figure out a way to carry Mami if she must - but at the same time noticing that she's closer to the caring young lady in height than she'd been a few months ago.

Growth spurts are for relaxed Ple Two to worry about, though. "Do you need... tea? Coffee? I can get you what you need."

Kaiba spends the night of Imagination 12 on board the train, released to his room after an exam---his injuries weren't life-threatening and were patched up, after all, and the medical car is short on space.

But there's still work he didn't get to finish. So when the train reunites with the camp, he's at the door, clinging to the frame.

He gingerly disembarks, moving a fair bit slower than usual. Time to finish up his work (and hide any lingering pain), but he lifts a hand in greeting for anyone he knows.

"Well. That was about as terrible as expected."

Ken is right behind Kaiba, holding a snoozing bundle of something tiny, green, and entirely too precious. He'd spent the night working himself through lots of emotions he thought he didn't feel anymore, forgiving himself since he can't help his reactions, only his actions, accepting those feelings, and then finally getting a little sleep. Which means he has forgotten to change his clothes.

Which means he is spattered in blood.

1. Medical (Day 12 into 13)

[Even after having her injuries treated, Masumi is still stuck in Medical to make sure she’ll be okay. She initially spends a while passed out in bed, but after the train lands in the clearing she’s already up and looking out the window into the hall, wanting to help despite her exhaustion, or just wanting to know what happened after she got evacuated.]

2. After Release (Day 13)

[After she’s finally allowed to leave Medical, she’s already rushing to help out where she can, knowing how rough the battle was. She’s still feeling the exhaustion to a degree, but that won’t stop her from doing her best.]

Vermouth was somewhat avoiding the medical car, given someone who had gotten injured had also realized there was more to her identity than just Sharon. But she also wanted to keep tabs on Ran, dangerous as that might be now. Just to make sure she was safe.

So while it was a slim chance, she chances a peek in the Medical carriage once the train arrived. No Ran... whether that is a good thing or not depends on perspective. But it does mean Vermouth needn't be quite as elusive.

However, she is rather surprised to see Akai's little sister there instead.

"Sera?" Sharon walks over, a look of concern on her face. "When did you get here?"

Yoite appeared rather suddenly in the luggage car, completely unconscious. It was at that point that his SCA would stop flashing and vibrating. There's evidence that he'd been injured, at least, there's a hole on his hip and his gloves have tears across the palms.

He was not actively bleeding, just unable to wake up at the moment.

Presumably he will have won a one way ticket to a medical bed in that state.

Yoite woke up mid-evening on Imagination 12, and he would blink a few times blearily before trying to get up on one elbow.

Once dismissed from medical, inevitably, he would be walking slow steps along the train to go to his room. He looked miserable.

In medical, Ichigo was feeling worn thin. But he didn't complain at all, since he was uninjured. He got Yoite on a spare bed and started to undress the boy as gently as he could. The shirt was salvageable, but those pants were beyond repair. Grabbing a pair of scissors from the medical supplies, Ichigo cut them off, starting at the waist and working his way down until he could just rip the fabric.

Senku was one of the lucky who got to be evacuated from the mission in a horrible state. He was healed, at least, on his feet, barely, and he was wearing clothes that were singed, had blood on one shoulder, and he smelled strongly of smoke.

To say that had been a bit of a disaster was an understatement.

He was intending on letting Gen drag him to bed at the earliest moment, he was so exhausted. He'd also had a concussion and so he was also not at his sharpest at the moment. Notably, his SCA is missing, his wrists are bare.

He would be out of bed with Eva's arrival and then potentially he might actually get some sleep.

Imagination 13, he would be around the train, getting coffee and looking kind of like a zombie. He will likely still smell a bit of smoke, even if he's had a shower at some point. He won't go for leaving the train, but he's also maybe not getting as much rest as he needs.

Imagination 13

Eight herself isn't getting much sleep, instead busying herself in whatever work she can muster. While still getting used to Senku's... everything... there were still things that she wasn't going to abide. Among them, his health.

No, she couldn't force him to sleep, but the one thing that she could do was provide him with some food. To that end, Eight will be bringing him a tray with honey-soaked delicacies to hopefully give him some renewed strength.

And maybe to pay him back that favor she owed, a little.

Reno didn't look too worse for wear even after all the fighting he'd participated in over the week. It might have been that he hid it well though. A Turk was a lot of things but showing weakness wasn't one of them. Besides, he was lucky in that he had the capacity to heal himself even while in battle.

So he had definitely looked worse during the last fight than he did now. Now, he walked languidly about the muddy camp looking around boredly at everything. That, too, was a facade. His keen eyes were assessing the area and looking for anything useful to pick back up and bring along. Nothing like the tents or anything, that stuff disappeared once back on the train anyway, but anything else that the passengers had gathered and maintained on their own. Dropped potions, tools left behind, spare clothing. Things of that nature, things that couldn't as easily be replaced.

Other than that, he kept an eye on the people around him, too. Anyone that needed a minor heal and looked like they would ignore the medical attendants because there were bigger injuries to tend to--that was the sort of person he would approach. His magic could heal bigger wounds but it was easier to tend to the minor things with less potent spells. So he tended to the lesser injuries when and where he felt like it.

That was what made him tired by the end of the day. That he tried to hide, too, with more or less success depending on who was looking.

Glorfindel has dealt with the aftermath of battle before, and so he is keeping an eye out for those who ignore their own wounds, or care for others until they are exhausted. So when Reno was near tapped out at the end of the day, Glorfindel came to offer him a little TLC too.

"Have a seat, tell me about your day," Glorfindel said, his smile wry. He offered the other a flask of something definitely not water, and a savory pasty.

Eight shuffled back slowly, her eyes gazing up to the limp gait of a near two-dozen other folks. The mood was severe and she didn't mind.

This was a far cry from the last mission, which was supposed to be a beach? Instead it was just sticky air, sticky ground, and sticky situations. She'd complain, but she was already tired of the non-existent grumbling. It was small comfort to know that everyone else was as miserable as her... and that everyone put their best effort to do what they can.

Eight looks like hell, smells worse, but it was times like this that she needed to keep busy. There was plenty to do to tend to the supplies, making some functional repairs on any devices that needed it, and to help with people that were immobile from injury or stress.

Cod... she could really use a shower. Ideally one that wouldn't splat her.

On Imagination 11, she's back to doing chores... but keeping her expectations and output low. Considering everybody else, she's pretty sure they wouldn't mind. Although maybe she'll try to give everyone that went planet-side will be offered a yoghurt parfait with a layer of orange, mango, ginger, and mint compote, to try to boost morale.

Imagination 12 - Closed to Ichigo, Willow, Senku.
Evac to the luggage car means all her pokemon have been forcibly returned to the stasis of their pokeballs. For the best given their mental states, to say nothing of their own injuries.

Eva herself is stable enough, but barely awake at this point -Senku's exhaustion through their bond not helping at all nor does the fact she's instinctively seeking the bond out, but look, she's scared (terrified, really), in shock, and he's there at least via the bond.

About the only thing keeping her semi-conscious is the fact she knows passing out would be Bad, possibly for them both. At least she can't feel her injuries any more and that's probably more than a little alarming, but she'll take relative numbness over pain. Still, that is an alarming amount of blood she's lost due to the shrapnel damage she's taken to her side, torso, and arms and there's likely some still in her.

At least there's bandages and the bloodloss has been slowed or even halted in some places. She'll live, but it's not pretty by any means.


Imagination 12 (night) onwards - Medical Cabin. OTA
By now it's probably known Eva was one of those who very nearly died during the mission, and for all Willow's healed her, and she's had her donated blood transfused back into her thanks to Ichigo's skills, she still needs to rest.

And that means enforced bedrest is enforced, given Eva's been locked into a medical cabin. Or well, she can't leave, but she can certainly have visitors, who'll notice right away that none of her pokemon are out. They haven't been out, either. Also noticeable is that her SCA and pokebelt (and the attached 'balls) are on the table (as is her scratched but still working rotom phone) next to the bed Eva herself's sitting on.

"Hey." She sounds hoarse. "Please tell me I can get out here?"

No. Not until at least the 14th, Eva. You need to rest.

As soon as they were back on the train in the luggage car, Ichigo was scooping her up and running. She needed the medical car, and since it was pretty empty, he could move very quickly. His mask was gone, at least. "Hang on, Eva-san. I'm going to use shunpo." He let Zangetsu manifest and move ahead of him, getting the doors open so he didn't have to stop.

It was a bit annoying being extremely good at fighting--but not so much the aftermath. Piccolo didn't like how many injured there were, and how much damage had been done this mission. Unfortunately as a Warrior Class Namekian there wasn't much he could do to help with healing efforts.

It left him looking a little more grumpy than usual. If only he knew the sorts of magic Kami and Dende could perform...

The best he could do was offer support, a helping hand that was as gentle as it was powerful and firm, and whatever else was needed that didn't directly involve healing magic or medical training. So despite his grumpiness, he turned soft expressions to people needing help with things around the camp and back on the train.

Maybe he could offer energy to the magical healers and see if it helped? He did have magical talent and maybe they could figure out how to drain that from him, or he could see if giving them ki energy would help any at all. He might walk up to one of them and ask.

Trunks was keeping himself busy, being one of those who'd come through things relatively unscathed. While clearing paths around the camp, he'd noticed Piccolo also doing the same and helping others. What else could they do?

During one of those times when their paths crossed, Trunks stopped him. "Piccolo, think we could get senzu beans from back home? Even just breaking one up would be helpful in aftermaths like this, don't you think?"

Base Camp

Ple Two is mildly stunned as she enters the remains of the base camp. She'd known that the battle was an exciting one, but this was a significant amount of damage to the surroundings.

When the VE landed and she noticed how many of them had already been sent back she simply nodded at the general assembly of injured and healers running about. "You all look like hell."

Tireless Work

Through the rest of Imagination 12, she went back to making further repairs and reinforcing those that had been rushed previously. She was unharmed, aside from a few little burns and cuts from working quickly, and had plenty of energy, reinforced by the desire to keep the injured from having to work too hard.

By the 13th she would be more noticeably worn out to anyone checking up on her, despite her pace not slowing at all.

Tireless Work

Eight was doing her own ritual of work, which fortunately for her meant that she was on cooking detail. This was a nice job with a pleasant payout which meant that people would be given what they need to soothe mind and body.

She had also taken it upon herself to make sure everyone was getting fed, and was now bringing a meal to Pie Two's workplace. Her eyebrows raise at the sight: she had clearly been overworking herself.

"Mmm..." They had never met before, so Eight was hesitant to call out to her. No, better that she let the food do the talking, she thought...

After making damn sure that those who had evacuated early are no longer in serious danger, Willow charges down to the nearest open door in a fiery fury that ignores any and all in her way. She's on a mission of her own and amped up with adrenaline to get to those needing healing. The moment she steps foot out of the train, she's shouting as loud as she can.

"I CAN HEAL ANY WHO NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, BRING THEM TO MEDICAL IMMEDIATELY OR TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE!"

Those who have known her for her kindness find a lacking of that in her words, and instead find that every word means business. And heavy stress for those who can pick that up.

Once all of those who have been seriously hurt are taken care of, Willow makes sure any other healers looking out for those recovering have things handled, and then goes to take a breather. The adrenaline is finally wearing off and her pushed back fear and stress is creeping back up on her as she walks some distance and just collapses against a wall and slides to the ground, shaking and tears sliding down her face, wrapping her arms against her legs. The last time she was this scared was when she nearly lost Lythrana, but it doesn't seem the same either. Multiple friends got hurt and she's angry she couldn't do more to help. Furious at those who hurt her friends and angry at herself for not being able to help more.

She doesn't mean to be in the way, but she's out of energy and had to sit down then and there.

Curufin happens to come down the passageway just in time to find Willow slumped against the wall, arms around knees, tears on her face.

"Willow! Are you all right?" he says, limping over to her and kneeling down carefully. He isn't injured badly enough to need her help as a healer, and he's already tied a couple of bandanas around his left upper arm and right thigh. He isn't concerned about himself, only about her. "Can I help?"

Allen hadn't really thought about going to the medical car right away, mostly because he knew how busy it was currently and just how more serious some people's injuries were compared to his own.

Although he did still need to be looked at considering he had been hit by shrapnel and shot at least, but instead his focus was on Timcampy who looked a little worse for wear for the moment. But Allen knew he would be okay at least regardless of what happens. Still didn't mean he worried any less.

"Maybe next time we'll just get you to eat them and store them in there until they calm down," he said jokingly, giving off a small laugh "But you did well."

Usually Alice would be more subtle about these things. She has a reputation to uphold, after all, and said reputation doesn't involve getting openly worried about others where people can see it.

But how is she supposed to help it now? After that battle, after how hurt everyone looks. Of course Alice immediately wanted to look for the people she cares about, to make sure they're fine. And the moment she spots Allen not very much looking fine at all, she's quick to run up to the other. Her hand moves to rest on his shoulder - if one of them is relatively uninjured enough to do so, anyway - and the worry in her eyes is obvious. There's no hiding it.

"Are you okay?!" Look, forget the people who are hurt way worse than him, okay. What matter is that Allen got hurt in the first place.

Koumyou Sanzo was quick to board the train, once it landed. He had a few goals in mind, but first--

"If anyone is bleeding out, I can help!"

He could do basic field medicine, too, but didn't know where the supplies for splints and stitches were. So for the moment, he'd just step in if someone was doing Very Badly and no one else had been able to get to them yet.

They'd better really need it, though, because any healing he did would hurt, probably worse than the injury itself.

It looked, to Koumyou, like half the train was on bed rest right now. And fully another quarter was busy trying to tend to that half.

That meant the spa car was probably wide open!

Freshly showered clean from all the grime and gunk from the planet, Koumyou wasted no time in bee-lining for the spa car and changing into a pair of train-issued trunks once he was there.

The priest took up very little space when stripped down. He was nothing but jutting bones and dense muscle, covered in a veritable knot-work of scars.

And bruises, of course; a kaleidoscope of them overlapped one another all across his frame, in various hues going from deep, angry purple to the older sickly yellow and green.

There was even an odd cut, and definitely more than a few bullet grazes. But he'd cleaned those up, stitched any that needed stitching, and now--

Glorious, glorious hot water. Koumyou sank into the heated pool with a huge sigh, loose blond hair long enough to sit on floating on the water all around him.

"Ahhhh," the priest sighed, sinking down further until the water was up to his chin, "I think I really missed you, train!"

He entered the car slowly with a fresh uniform and a towel wrapped around his shoulders, no longer in pain but still tired. And paused when he spotted a familiar face.

Ah...Koumyou, the powerful priest---and what little he could see from this angle supported that impression. The door closed behind him, and he took a step back.

"Oh. If you're...busy I can come back."

He certainly looked like he was having fun, anyway.

Evening, Imagination 13

The gym carriage is full of soccer balls.

That's what it might feel like to anyone entering, anyway, given how many are strewn about. The all-purpose net has been strung tightly on one side of the car, so that anything hitting it is more likely to bounce back and be ready for reuse in a shooting drill; that said, there's a few that got away, so watch your step.

Breathing heavily, eyes both focused on the net and somewhere else entirely, is Ichijouji Ken. He'd gone back out to help with repairs once the train arrived, but had kept to himself; now that the mission is over, he'd hoped things would settle for him, internally, but not so far.

Thus, movement. Anything to feel like he isn't doing nothing. Is he being self-indulgent? He has a feeling he is. But maybe that's what - he - needs -

"Ngh!"

Even like this, he's a magnificent soccer player. That ball plows into the net.

Takato was tired. He'd spent much of the last part of the mission running around with Guilmon and trying to help wherever they could.

And so maybe he wasn't paying as much attention to his surroundings as he should. He yelps and quickly dives to the floor as one of those soccerballs almost hits him.

In the morning, Xingchen helped with the packing things up, putting down the tents, and once he certain that the pandas are all right, he bids them good-bye. With the SCA beeping to return and get back in the train, he hesitates boarding.

Because he felt someone is missing and hasn't returned back, hasn't made it back from the mission. He can't see, but he can hear that many people made it back from evacuation, survived the fight, with many injured, but no word from the one who hasn't returned.

This had him worried. Eventually, he finds his voice to speak up to anyone close by who can hear him. "Hello? Can anyone hear me? Where is Xue Yang? Did he made it back...?"

Someone should tell him the news, so he could board the train on time to leave.

Madoka came out of it all relatively uninjured, knowing well enough to keep herself away from where the worst of the fighting was taking place.

But that just means she too has been all over the place. Trying to finish up things on the planet, especially in place of the people who are too injured to do so by now. Trying to help out people with little things, even though she can't exactly heal anyone.

And she's really, really trying to tell herself that it isn't too much, that she can keep going and do it.. but Madoka's only a 14 year old, after all. And a pretty normal one at that. And seeing all of this suffering just gets to be too much at this point. Not enough to totally break her, but enough for a girl like her to just need a moment.

So if Alfredo goes looking for her, he may find her sitting at a table, trying to wipe some tears out of her eyes.

Helping around the Camp
Their base camp was a mess, and it was familiar to Trunks. In a way he didn't particularly like, reminding him too much of home with its destruction. At least there weren't bodies...

He'd come out of things relatively unscathed, to put himself to work helping others. He couldn't assist much with medical other than fetching and carrying, or helping hold or carry patients. He was usually found trying to make clearer paths free of debris around the camp to the train, to make it easier to get around.

On the train
One thing he could do, even if he couldn't cook well, was at least make sure those who were injured and those who were caring for the injured, ate and took breaks. So he might show up to someone, and shove a water-bottle and sandwich at them, with a stern expression. "Take a 10 minute break. This mission was rough."

On the train

Between the pandas, the robots and the chaos of the last day of the mission it takes them until they return to the train to be able to figure out how to get into Halo's SCA.

Once they do they will find there are similar functions to their own. There is a torch, a timer, even a collection of music- it seems Halo's music taste varied between very heavy metal music and long, epic full orchestra pieces. There is a contact list, it is empty.

But most notably there is a message icon and it has a 1 next to it...

It's strange, cracking into Halo's small secrets...but they need any help they can get. And so they work, and find something that might help at long last.

With the final ambush, the Voidtreckers had been scattered to the four winds. The immediate result of this following the end of the fight was the half an hour Lightning spent roaming the area around what had been base camp, following torn trees and bullet casings to various points. Looking for survivors, or, more often, belongings that had been strewn about in the battle.

She wasn't hurt - hadn't stayed hurt - and other than the edge of strain that told her that Odin wasn't returning anytime soon, had magic to spare. It meant her nervous energy could be turned into action, helping people back to camp or offering the softly-lit relief of white magic for injuries great or small. Everyone had taken a beating, but Red Team were looking particularly haggard, and she could only assume it would get worse as news spread.

By the time the sun set, she wanted to have checked in with everyone on the team.

Paradigm: Sentinel

There's only so much she can do, and she's learned her lesson about taking breaks. By evening time, she's sat on the step to the dining carriage, looking out at the jungle. An armadillo is gradually cleaning her plate of scraps beside her, while she disassembles and cleans mud from her gunblade.

The armadillo is called Vaan, she's decided, for how utterly she's being disregarded in favour of its goal.

If she's waiting to see if any noises or lights pierce through the trees, then that's her business.

Romeo's glad he went to help sort out the pandas but he also feels a bit guilty, because it sounds like it was a really bad battle! He is sad people got hurt and would have liked to have been able to help!

But at least he had gotten the pandas away from eating everything at the control station! But now the train is back so he is helping out where he can. He sees Lightning and waves as he goes over.

"You got a friend!" He smiles at the armadillo. "Are you okay miss Lightning? Do you need anything to eat?"

Imagination 12/13 - On The Ground

Nita's return to base camp is without fanfare or triumph; compared to the others, she's well-off enough to do some healing, to fly off and check on the other sites and try to recover some droids for her sister's sake, and to generally be caught up on whatever happened.

She sleeps, at her friends' insistence - so long as they do the same, and catch up with her on at least some of what happened to them. The mission wasn't a total loss, despite her own failure, and so she listens to what people say, to try and focus on that.

Imagination 13 through 15

Nita again will try to distract herself with chores once back on the train; she doesn't exactly need to at this point, but it's better than doing nothing.

In the same vein, she'll also be going through her extensive notes, both for Eva's project and to try and make a personal timeline out of what she's learned. She can be found working on this either in her room or in the library car.

13th, on the train

Seto meets her in the library. If she's watching, he'll see that he's moving more slowly than usual...but he's fine, honest. He has his own notebook clutched tightly in his hands, questions spinning through his head.

He drops into the chair next to her.

"You made it. Good."

Clearing up

The clearing is a mess. It's understandable, and unavoidable, but it also presents a huge problem for Gyousou. Or rather, for his taiho. He's only reached the edge of what used to be the base camp, and already the smell of blood mixes with smoke, rainwater and other, unknown smells he can only assume come from the machines. And there stands the train, coiled around the mess like a guardian serpent.

Taiki isn't going to be able to cross that ground to the train without sickening. Even without that to consider, the state of it isn't good for morale. Or hygiene.

He can carry the kirin to the train if need be, but that won't fix the latter problem.

"Excuse me," he collars the nearest person not immediately occupied in a task. "What is being done to clean the camp? Do we have anyone with abilities that might help?"

He should know this, but he has clearly been too lax in getting to know his fellow travellers.

The cleaning begun, he returns to the smaller clearing he left Taiki in the moment the kirin had stopped in his tracks and recoiled from the sense of blood ahead of them.

"The situation isn't good," he explains. "Many were injured, and the camp looks more like a battlefield. I'd like to bring you aboard the Express as soon as possible. Will you be able to walk?"

Out and About

For the rest of the evening, he moves between train and camp, moving cleaning buckets of befouled mud and water to a pit outside of the clearing; piling up sections of robot or camping equipment at the treeline; arranging fires and clear areas for those who would prefer to spend their last day on-world outdoors. This at least is something he's used to, the mess a battle inflicts on the land it is waged upon.

And if nothing else, it's something to do.

Clearing Up

Nita's hands are currently unoccupied, though the look on her face implies she's concentrating on something-

But whatever it is, she's glad to be distracted from it. Brows furrowing, she nods.

"I brought the plants in here earlier; I could have a word with the rock itself, see if any weeds will take root here now that we're not going to be using this place. Think that could help?"

If it wasn't what Gyousou had in mind, Nita would think of something. Try to meet him at whatever it was he needed.

[Waver was already working on healing before the mission itself had been finished; Willow called him back, and he'd welcomed the opportunity to be actually useful without getting in over his head. Luckily, he still had enough magical energy left over to ease the worst of his fellow passengers' injuries, and quick enough hands to bandage and/or suture what magecraft couldn't.]

[Working was the better thing to do right now. Because if he stopped for an instant, he'd start thinking. And after everything, he definitely didn't need that right now.]

[By the evening of the 13th, they had enough hands that he could safely back off for now; pale and low on magic, he didn't have much choice. If he kept going, he'd risk mana deprivation and be in worse shape than most.]
