That made sense. It had kind of felt like she had been "pointing" him in that direction. The second part, however, he frowned thoughtfully at because he had never done such a thing and wasn't certain of it.

Usually if he was sending out energy it was directly to another person. It made sense. It felt right. Sending energy to a random point in space? That seemed strange. Who would absorb it? What good would it do?

But, she was the magician, not him. Apparently something would be done with it.

He had plenty of energy to spare, even after the large battle. Carefully, he sent a small amount towards the area indicated. It wasn't quite enough to be visible for the moment but it should have been otherwise noticeable.
