Thanatos doesn't know what that something else could be, but putting Zagreus in danger isn't one of them. He gets out his sword. He'd bring out his wings to boost his speed, yet he's worried about catching the demons' attention by doing so. Then uncharacteristically, he reaches out to place a light hand on Zagreus's arm. "This isn't going to be like one of our competitions, okay?" Zagreus is strong. He's better equipped to handle this than Thanatos is. Still, he can't shake this fear inside him.
