The Will to Fight: Ongoing: Red and Purple
Dawn Attack
It's been a busy few days of fighting demons, attacking keystones and fighting both on the demon and human planes. On the morning of day nine of the month of Kazoo a gate opens close to the base camp that the two teams have made.
It seems the demons have decided to focus on this unexpected threat, because it is a sizable force, with a number of the large demons. They march towards the camp with single-minded focus, the opportunity to stop these unwanted defenders taking precedence over their desire to destroy the city.
The advantage to the landscape being as ruined as it is, is that there isn't much to stop the lookouts from seeing this force headed towards them. A gate opening is not subtle. There should be enough time to make sure the defenders are ready.
Scouting Ahead
Once that skirmish is won those on the Red team will find their SCA's beeping, with an exclamation point far out to the east.
A group of demons is congregating at the location indicated. Investigate why, defeat the demons and close any gates nearby.
It will take a while to get there and there is plenty to do on the way for those that follow the exclamation point. Roaming packs of demons, gates to be closed. Exhausting work, especially for those going in and out of the demon gates.
Protecting the City
Once it is clear that these defenders are not going to be easy to wipe out, the attacks on the city itself get more frequent. The demons have changed tactics: rather than sending in large groups they open many small portals, sending small strike teams to harry and target individuals.
Some of the attacks are clearly meant as traps: they open the gates in or very close to the city, to lure the Voidtreckers in to where they will be affected by the spell. Ranged attacks may be useful here.

Intruder?
Nothing that seems dangerous. Perhaps an animal got into camp?
Beep. Beep. Boop.
(OOC: For mod sanity try and group up as much as you can here though individual threads are fine as well!)
Ryo, Willow, Vexen
It's odder still that he can hear something moving in a tent - something that his Sense is not picking up, which means it's likely not a teammate or a demon. He'd think it was an animal, but there haven't been any of those out here in base camp.
He waves to the two people nearest him - Willow and Vexen, both people he trusts - and gestures towards the tent, then to his ear. Can they hear that?

Nothing seems dangerous but that doesn't really mean anything. He tilts his head slightly as his eyes zero in on a mug-that's odd. He's pretty sure it was upright before. Carefully, he moves over to set it back upright. Then he hears it-a soft beeping.
"...That's probably not a great sign." Peter remarks to himself, trying to hone in on where the noise is coming from.

[He freezes as he looks up at Roland, sniffling to try to clear his nose and then coughing. He looks unusually pale - even with the protection of Vexen's coat he's still particularly affected by the land on the other side of the portals and by whatever attacks the smaller demons are using.]
I-I'm fine!
[He's not fine and it's obvious, but he doesn't want someone to tell Vexen. He can take care of himself. He doesn't need to be worried over. He's just... low on magic for the moment... that's got to be all it is, right? Right.]

Casper | OTA
Casper's awake when the portal opens, and starts yelling on the network. As much as he wants to start moving and taking care of them himself, he's aware that as strong as he is he stands no chance against that many on his own.
Once they've gathered some of their forces though, Casper dives right in. He only has so much 'life-affirming' magic available, but what he does have is ice. A lot of ice. One group of demons gets pelted with snowballs, another gets the area around them pelted with snow and sleet, sending them tripping on the suddenly far-more difficult surface.
There's a brief flash of Casper looking a few inches taller, in a dark robe. He flourishes it, and he suddenly appears behind a demon, slamming a baseball bat into its spine before darting away again. The length of the robe doesn't seem to hamper him, and if someone tries to track him they'll have a hard time - he's running fifty... sixty... seventy... way too many miles per hour. He's picked up rope from somewhere, too, and attached a rock to the end, making a crude sort of bolas that he's using to wrap around demon necks and tug hard enough to break them.
He's getting bashed around, but strangely, despite his obvious pain response, it only seems to make the injuries he's inflicting on the demons that much more severe. He'll rescue anyone he sees in danger, back them up, and get right back to fighting.
[Protecting the City]
Casper is pacing himself a little better in these fights. He's not going into the gates, but if he spots one opening up there's a decent chance a wall of ice will sprout to block the entrance. When he sees people heading to the portal he'll drop it, moving onto another one.
Any demon that gets close to camp will probably get Casper moving to intercept if no one else does, or if the person looks like they need backup. He's trying to keep his magic usage limited - he can only do so much, and there's a chance he'll need to same some for the end. If nothing else, he needs to save some to heal himself in case of severe injury.
[Camp]
He's exhausted. He doesn't need to sleep, but it's pretty clear he's running himself ragged. Someone might find him around the camp nursing a little bit of food, or petting his raven, or hugging a plush wolf. If he's had a particularly bad run he'll be catching his breath away from people, reddish-yellow blood streaked with silver on wounds that close within a few minutes.
He's still up and able to lend a hand if needed, but there's significantly less pep in his step at the moment. And quietly in the evenings he has his back up against something solid, singing a haunting song that seems to echo out further than it should.
[Wildcard]
[???]
[Hit me up, I'll match prose or action.]
Dawn
Much like Casper, Trunks is moving almost too fast to be seen at times, especially when it comes to dodging. He's a blur of golden aura with flashes of his sword striking out, and small burst-attacks of ki. "Casper! This way!" Called and asking for back-up as Trunks has a big demon's whip severed, but can't seem to get close otherwise.

Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
Nozomi busy trying to get in a bit of sleep when the demons start attacking again. It startles her with a groggy groan, trying to sit up as she gets her bearings. "Mmmrgh... another one? Tell them to come back in five minutes..."
She'll be busy trying to find a potion and her CureMo in her groggy state.
Protecting the City
It seems that the demons are getting smarter, activating smaller portals with smaller groups in them. Even more, it seems that the group is aiming at Nozomi more, trying to lure her towards the city. Right now, Nozomi isn't thinking too straight and is bouncing closer and closer to the city in her attempt to stop these beings.
You can try and stop her from getting closer to the city if you can. However, if you fail, she'll come to a stop as she sees the city before her, lost in its magics. The demons sees this as a perfect opportunity, binding her with the intention on stealing her costume for protection before killing her. She might need some help with that...

Takato/Guilmon/Dukemon |OTA
Takato may have been fast asleep, worn out from all the fighting he and Guilmon had been doing. But Guilmon is awake enough to catch the scent and commotion of the approaching attack. He shakes Takato awake and they are out at the edge of the camp with time enough to see the army approaching.
A bright flash of light later, and they are Dukemon again, charging towards the invading army with lance and shield ready.
Protecting the City:
By this time, Takato and Guilmon were exhausted. The brief breaks at the camp weren't enough to make up for the long hours of fighting in a form they weren't used to. Their movements as Dukemon were slower, and their attacks were taking longer to charge.
But they stayed by the city, defending it against each new attack.
Protecting the City
Allen was trying his best to defend in his own way, going as far as to using his innocence to control his movements even though he was clearly tired. He moved over to take out a couple more looking over.
"Everything okay here?"

Danny - OTA
Danny occupies himself by punching his way through packs of demons, occasionally throwing in some ghost ice for good measure. All along the way he complains, loudly, about the time of day and wonders whether ghosts and demons had something against letting people sleep in.
Scouting Ahead:
Danny was finally starting to feel the exhaustion from his many trips into the demon world, but he still volunteers immediately to scout ahead. He still had energy enough. Probably.
Besides, he figured that it would be useful having someone along who could scout from the sky.

Piccolo | OTA
Piccolo raced back to the camp as soon as word got out about the morning attack. The larger forces were a concern. The demons were definitely displeased about the Voidtreckers interference with their attack on the city. Too bad for them the Voidtreckers weren't going anywhere before the fight was finished.
Flying at high speed, it didn't take the Namekian long to get back to base. He didn't bother to help fix up defenses but rather went straight into attacking the would-be attackers. No point in letting them get near the camp if they could help it.
He focused his attention on the larger demons since he had the prowess to go one-on-one with them easily. He wouldn't mind help but he also didn't acknowledge it most of the time, staying focused on the fight more often than not.
II. Scouting Ahead
Again, Piccolo's speed and flight helped make this an easy endeavor for the Namekian. He wanted to know what was going on that now the SCAs were telling them about it. Of course, not being on Red Team he had to steal a glance at one of the team member's SCAs to figure out where to head first. Sadly, ki sensing wouldn't allow him to pinpoint direction with these strange beasts.
And quite frankly, as speedy as he could be, that didn't keep him from getting distracted with demon forces and gates along the way. In particular he was more interested in such areas where it looked like others needed help getting through. His strength could easily see him through but others had a harder time. He wanted to be helpful to others and keep them safe. The more gates he took out the more fatigued he became along the way, too.
Despite that, eventually he made it there as one of the first to arrive and get a good look. He frowned at the sight.
Dawn Attack
He'll be mostly otherwise occupied, of course, but one of Cassie's latest imp victims will come wooshing past his head on its way to its new home in an as-yet unformed crater.
She's hitting quite a bit harder than she used to.

Trunks--Purple/Red Camp
Trunks had been one of those resting in the camp; good thing he slept lightly. It's not long at all before he's joining the initial charge to meet the demons as they come. Glowing golden with the super-saiyan aura, sword out and he's taking down demons swiftly. The normal ones don't give him much trouble, but the smaller ones and the big ones are definitely more annoying.
Dawn Attack-Closed to Family
Once past the initial charge and attack, Trunks is focusing on the bigger demons. His plan so far has been cut their whips so they can't use them, try to not get hit, and then blast them from a distance. His armor is already showing spots of wear-and-tear thanks to a few times he didn't dodge completely, as is his sword from cutting them.
He's not letting it stop him though, as the poison is quickly burned away by short bursts of his ki in an aura. He's managed to disarm a few of the big guys and they're all in a nice group--but his Burst Attack isn't going to cut it this time. Finding a spot on the ground nearby, Trunks pulls his ki in more, shifting his hands and position "Gallick...." Then lets the burst fly, almost shoving the beam of ki at the bigger demons. "Ho!"
Protecting the City
Obviously the demons had kept learning, as this was going to make it hard for people to get any rest. Trunks fell for one trap already; fortunately the demons had bitten off a bit more than they could chew. He wasn't falling for it again, so his sword was staying sheathed whenever he was close to the city. Staying out of range, and hurling ki Blasts was the way to go.
Camp
With the increase, Trunks found himself actually exhausted more often. But he took a drink, had something to eat, maybe even part of one of the Lembas Breads in his ARMS bands, when he could and kept going. They'd get through this siege, although someone might want to make sure he takes more breaks.
Protecting the City
Moving in closer he looks over, sword in his right hand.
"Need help?"

47 | OTA
47 was with Red Team when it broke out. Being as they were out further to work on the gates and demons away from the city to drive them back, it took time for the assassin to get back to the main camp set up. Whether by someone's impromptu mass teleportation or by simply hoofing it over the terrain on his own, eventually 47 made it there.
The large scale attack on the base was already well under way. 47 didn't hesitate for long to figure out where he wanted to go to help turn the tide of the battle.
He flanked one of the demon gates, hitting it from the side while the defenders were already engaged head-on. This gave him the advantage of surprise and took out many a normal demon with potshots from his rifle before the army realized where his attacks were coming from. By then he packed up, stayed low, and carefully moved to another position. Rinse and repeat. This was what he was good at: discretion and efficiency at getting the job done.
II. Brief Rest
After the battle the assassin was worn. It'd been a long few days with battles in and out of the demon realm, plus this new attack at dawn. He decided to spend a moment in the camp to help with the aftermath. It gave him a brief rest before, being on Red Team, his SCA began to beep with new information.
That was next on the agenda then. But first--time for some breakfast since everyone's morning was so rudely interrupted.
III. Scouting Ahead
Eventually he set out to follow the SCA's new indicator. The demons must have been getting frustrated by the Voidtreckers' interference and mayhap even desperate for a final push to win. Time to see what new tactic they were planning on the horizon.
Naturally, it took time to get there. Fighting demon forces along the way. Making certain everyone else could keep up. Trying not to envy anyone with flight or other special abilities that made them quick. Not that he needed such things.
He took his time and made certain the demons wouldn't get behind them while they pushed forward, taking out gates along the way to ascertain this.
Brief Rest
She's headed for that, when she notices 47's SCA beeping. "What's going on?" She asks--she's guesting on Red, but that doesn't mean she got the alert.

Reno | OTA
When dawn came the base camp was set afire. Not literally, thankfully, but metaphorically there was a fire lit under everyone's asses as the demon hoard suddenly appeared before them for a renewed attack. Luckily, they had time to prepare.
Reno helped shore up the defenses. He yelled out helpful tips as he went about business of his own, always keeping a move on, looking for weak points to fix. Then the time came for the actual attack.
Help came from others coming back to defend the camp and things didn't seem so bad. Even if they were all exhausted from fighting for so many days nigh on end. Still, most people were like Reno in one regard: they refused to let it show. They kept on fighting and winning.
Reno zipped along the battlefield with his Electro-Mag Rod in hand, a blur of blue lightning as he attacked swiftly, repositioned back out of range, and then hit his opponents with a ranged attack from afar. Typically stunning them before leaping back in close for melee strikes with his baton and a flurry of combo kicks. As usual, he kept up a steady stream of sarcastic quips and light-hearted complaints at the same time.
II. Protecting the City
The ongoing attacks become more frequent and Reno feels the pressure. Abandoning the defensive position, he goes on the attack whenever a new portal opens up in Purple's territory near the city. He has no qualms about going into the demon realm to take out the keystones despite his numerous complaints about the other dimension and thus hops right in whenever one opens up.
Of course, that eventually makes him an easy target for one of the traps. The smaller demons aren't impossible to fight for someone as speedy as the Turk but they are certainly more intelligent and harder to take down swiftly because of it. It is a few of these such demons that target Reno during one surprise attacks.
The redhead does his best to dodge and flip out of the way of numerous attacks. His specialty was speed and agility. It showed in almost every fight he got into. This was no exception. The smaller demons rushed him but Reno backflipped or leapt or rolled out of the way every time. However, the many attacks kept him on the defensive for far too long. He was beginning to wear thin on energy. He slowed slightly, just enough to get nicked by one of the daggers. He hissed as the life draining effect seeped through the wound, hurting him more than a typical dagger slice and making him all the more tired.
This was kinda bad, even for him. He needed an opening to get in an attack of his own.
II
He was not at all counting on this.
Trust was an elusive thing in his life. He wouldn't say he trusted anyone - and for good reason, most of his so called comerades wanted him dead at one point or another - but he has fought with Reno before.
Crouched on a wave like he's surfing, this is not at all something he's practiced and he's getting some ideas now that he's more able to express himself creatively, he jumps off in time, landing wiht his back to Reno. He'd show him his back, but few others.
The water crashed in and knocked demons aside, giving them at least a moment or two's breathing space.
"Hey, miss me?" He quipped with a smirk. Reno looked rough didn't he? In his opinion anyway, and he reached back to gently clap Reno's arm, his hand green. He only had cura though, it was more like a regenerating effect over time, but it would help.

Xue Yang | Red Team
Xue Yang is a fairly light sleeper and he can practically feel the vibrations of lots of feet marching their way toward camp. He pushes himself to his feet and collects his weapons, pulling his robes on and getting dressed practically as he walks towards the enemy.
He stops as he reaches the lookout area and watches the large force heading towards them. He pulls out the enchanted swords, figuring a distance attack might be for the best but not yet making a move.
"They are not smart enough to sneak up on us."
Scouting ahead
Xue Yang is heading towards the location on the SCA. He is already wound up and ready to kill after the early morning assault on their camp. Sword in hand because he keeps having to take down little remnants of demons that keep trying to get in his way.
He is busy with one such band of trouble makers and doesn't see some of the others coming up from behind him. He is usually pretty alert when it comes to enemies but after all these days of fighting and the early rise of the morning, even his senses are starting to get a little worn down.
He is busy with the demons in front of him as those others close in.

Prompto whistles a bit. "Not bad! Yes!" He was indeed, congratulating himself as the four demons coming up behind the stranger fall dead.

Xie Lian doesn't need a lot of sleep and he was up early doing some meditation when he sense the surge of demons getting closer. He opens his eyes and gets to his feet quickly. For a moment he wonders if they are coming for the dagger that he still has in his possession and for a moment he worries this is his fault.
He goes back into the tent and grabs the dagger, tucking it into his belt before heading back outside and hurrying in the direction of the coming pass of demons. He is going to do whatever he has to, to protect the camp. Even if it means giving up the dagger.
He reaches the edge of the camp and looks around to see if anyone else was woken up by the rush of demons coming towards them.
Protecting the City
Xie Lian has been running around trying to stop as many of the small strike teams as possible. But it is becoming increasingly obvious that he has become a target and these portals are opening simply to attack him.
He takes down yet another patch of them before collapsing down on the ground. He sits there trying to regain some of his energy, growing more exhausted the longer he is out there.
"How much longer will we have to endure this?"
no subject
Demyx was still on his feet at least, but he was flagging, easily. He was leaning a little heavily on his sitar, the break is short but really, all the haste on his magic in the world can't keep up with this.
A few more come lumbering out and he picked up his sitar properly, playing a few notes to erect a water wall between them and the demons.
"Do I look like some kind of hero?" He exclaimed at whatever was controlling all of this.

Bucky/Soldat | Purple, guesting on Red team | OTA
The Asset doesn't come out much. Part of that is Soldat doesn't get into many situations where it's needed; part of that is it has no real desire to hijack the shared body without permission, and it is not any better at asking for things than Soldat is.
But with the second swarming attack of the mission, Soldat ducks out of their tent with a completely flat expression and a very clear intent to do a lot of murder in their walk. They're faster, more ruthless, intently focused-- and don't talk much. Anyone who saw Soldat in the first fight, and in their many strike missions on the demon gates, can tell the difference. But the Asset knows friend from foe, at least, and it is just as implacable in the defense of friends and allies as it is in eliminating the enemy.
When everything's calmed down, and the last of the surge has been chased off or summarily shot, the Asset stands waiting, at attention, for a long moment at the edge of camp. Ready for orders. Soldat will wrest their way back out before too long, but there's time to address the Asset if anyone wants to try and figure out what's going on here.
II. Demon Gauntlet
It isn't possible to protect the city and investigate the demon congregation, so Soldat has to make a choice. The choice they make, after considering options and just how stupid Red team members can be about haring off on their own, is scouting. They can at least provide backup, food, and maybe a little strategy for the idiots who want to just charge in, often on their own.
So they start out with whoever else is heading for the mark on their SCA's maps, Arms Band loaded up with more of their pre-mission made pot pies and granola bars, and do their best to keep the team at least within sight of each other. A ranged but connected team is a team that spots trouble sooner and can come to each other's aid, dammit.
Also, line of sight means they're constantly in rifle range of everyone they can see. Small roving bands of demons catch one person alone, and that person finds their attackers getting picked off one by one, gunshots to the head.
III. Catnap vs Keeping Watch
Strangely enough, it's easier to sleep a little outside of camp, away from the sounds of the injured and the stupid too-familiar tent. Soldat manages two catnaps between watches while the team is en route, maybe an hour and a half apiece, though the second they wake up from thrashing out of a nightmare of fucking trenches and pounding guns. Haven't had a war dream in a while. At least they weren't screaming, that's something. Even asleep, they know how to keep quiet while out in the field.
No more sleep. That's enough. They feel much more refreshed, now. Honestly. (Ugh.)
I.
He looks beat (and the climb hadn't helped). He had been on the front lines to meet the demon force and defend
histhe camp, but he's not nearly as seasoned in this type of grueling, ferocious combat as most of the other warriors among his fellow Voidtreckers. He's streaked with dirt and sweat and blood and moves with little of his usual grace and control. And yet, beat though he is, he's still on his feet and focused. "Soldat," he says with a nod as he joins them. "Not seeing any sign of a second wave, are you?"

Peter Parker
Peter wakes up to his Spidey-Sense buzzing. It's not as strong as an immediate danger type thing but it's also not a tiny prickle like he gets when something is a little off. No, this is the buzzing he gets when something's coming. It's not his favorite wake up call, especially since he's probably done less sleeping than he really should have, but he's up.
Annnd this is not a stealthy attack by any means. He rushed to get ready for battle for absolutely nothing. "Man! I could have slept in. Do you demons like... ever consider the plans of others? It's waaaay too early in the morning for this shit." He grumbles, rolling his shoulders.
{ Scouting Ahead }
Peter had considered falling back and checking on the other teams but there doesn't seem to be any immediate emergency that he's heard about over the SCAs so he packs up and decides to continue lending his strength to the red team.
He really didn't get enough sleep last night-not that he ever gets enough sleep but now he's especially exhausted and half dragging his feet as he walks.
"Oh My God, are we there yet?" He groans, hating himself just a little for the whiney tone in his voice.
Scouting Ahead
She wanted to be able to help and fight with those she had become friends with here. It was the least she could do.
"Not yet, at least it doesn't look like it." She replied with a yawn, using her hand to cover her mouth.

Najaran - working with Purple this time
Najaran had been asked to scout from the air and report. And she was trying She just.. um... wasn't great at it. Yeah. Sorry about that, guys. She's the reason that Glorfindel put signs up in the train directing people which way to go. Because she can get lost. On the train. Easily. So out here? The chance of her directions being at all useful if she didn't have line of sight AS she spoke was... questionable.
Except...
Except... that she figured out a trick. She summoned one of her larger creatures to fight where the knots of demons were worst, so she could fly back up, spot one of them and then point when she reported in. So feel free to have had Najaran drop in on you from the back of a dinosaur looking dragon thing that was spitting lightning, to direct you to a bad knot of fighting, to to have your back if you're in a bad situation.
protecting the city
It was getting bad. Najaran could only do so much to warn people when they started opening so many so fast. In fact, she got caught at one point, on foot, her creatures back in their cards. She'd been fighting since she woke up. Whenever that was. She couldn't remember. She was nearly spent. And backed into a corner, holding her staff like a sword. "I may have to use a spell," she gasped.
"Najaran, no," Goligan said, sharply.
"Not sure I have a choice at this point..."

Clef - Purple this time too
Clef was there for this, but only because he followed the Demons when they swarmed the camp. The miniature mage hasn't bothered with things like sleep or breaks. He might have eaten. He doesn't recall. Mostly all the rage and anger and pain and helplessness and sadness that's been bottled up inside him since...
Well since well before he arrived on the train....
It finally had an outlet. Nita leaving had been nearly the final crack in the dam. And with a safe way to vent his feelings, they were pouring out of him in the form of massive arcane power. He'll run out and collapse at some point. But this is not that point.
He lashed is feelings at the demons with flashy attack after flashy attack. He might look ten years old, but floating in his magical shield bubble he also looked like a tiny vengeful god who was well past DONE WITH THIS NONSENSE.
Honestly, the only reason he wasn't MORE reckless was that eventually he would hopefully have to face his son. And that Zelda would be hurt if he got hurt. Fine that was two reasons, shut up. He was kind of... too much in his emotions to think that clearly.
protecting
He let himself fall into the traps, to keep others from falling victim, and then just as it looked like it was all over for him, magic pulsed out in all directions from his shield, sheathing attacking demons in flames. The small strike teams generally got shoved back with water attacks and then zapped with electricity while they stood, soaked. In a few cases, he even opened the ground under a group of demons violently and then slammed it closed around them while they were still falling.
He hadn't hurt anyone but the demons, but it was hard to tell if that was luck or skill. It was skill, but he looked too crazed for that to really seem plausible. He looked like a disaster. But he couldn't stop. Wouldn't stop.
Instead of the emotions driving him, as this went on, he was clinging to them. Because he was becoming aware that the pain was the only thing fueling his will enough to keep him upright. And they needed him. He could collapse after the mission....
Dawn attack
"I'd give that one a nine, kid." Given Beetlejuice's actual age, he actually could refer to Clef as a child. Although, he currently had no clue to the mage's actual age. He held up a little card with a bold "9" written on it.
The Netherworld demon then set the demon closest to him on fire, with a snap of his fingers.

Also with Purple - Privateer Pirate
Dawn Attack
The flesh golem looking pirate had been napping against a tree. He'd been fighting as much as anyone, though his powers made the fighting odd. But until now he'd only been around other passengers when he retreated to the camp for food and sleep, then went off to fight on his own.
He knew most of the people on the train hadn't ever seen him fight. Even back in Nautilus his way of fighting threw some people, so he had avoided having to deal with it. Plus that made it seem like he participated on other missions that he had skipped.
But this time he couldn't avoid it. The camp had been attacked and he had to defend it with the others. So he did.
At first for all he looked odd he looked like he might fight in a typical way. He had a cutlass out - it went with the pirate look - as he faced off against a demon. Then he grinned as he lunged. "Sorry, I'm known for my cutting remarks." He slashed, but it wasn't his blade that caused the wounds on the demon. For one thing there were too many. It looked like a dozen swords had slashed the demon. Or, you know, cut it up. "My wit can really be a trip for some," he said as some demons tripped over each other.
Yeah. His power was that he could pun things into happening. Have fun with that....
Camp
As before, Zetta's minions stood in a line, surprisingly still and serious for that rowdy bunch.
"I know where the demons live. I say we take the fight to them. Or, uh, I'm GOING to regardless of what you guys do..." Let's not pretend anyone else's opinions would change his actions.
Demyx | OTA
He’d had a trying time with the waves of other demons, really, so he’d finally gotten some much needed sleep. Whether he needed sleep or not he had no idea, but it was definitely the fastest way to recharge his energy.
It was a good thing he did.
The number of demons that interrupted their rest was insane. “Oh come on.” He groaned. “I’m not the guy for this.”
His words might sound like he was fleeing, but where would he even flee to, even if he could? No, he summoned his sitar in a rush of water, catching it deftly. Oh well. He grinned a little bit, time to let the darkness in. “Time for a concert!”
Protecting the City
Targeted attacks were annoying and frequent. Small groups weren’t that hard at least, the portal would appear, the demons arrive and a well placed ranged attack would knock them off their feet.
Demyx was getting tired. He leaned heavily on his sitar between blasts, trying to catch his breath.
There were marks on his arms, his legs, those life draining whips finding purchase. He was healing, slowly, but he was just barely keeping up. His magic regeneration skill wasn’t helping either, not with a steady onslaught.
The next portal opens and he straightens a little bit, but this looked...painful.
Camp Break
Anyone who knew Demyx wouldn’t be surprised to see him taking a break, curled up under a tent. Since coming back, he’s pulled on his hoodie, hood up and tucked himself under a blanket.
It was alright if people thought he was being lazy. He’d play into it.
A half strength cura is all he can manage, so he may also look like he’s got whisps of darkness trailing off of him, for the moment, while he waits to heal. It was a close call, he just needed his healing to outrun the damage he took.
no subject
But from that show of sitar-summoning he is clearly a priest, or a magic user of some kind or other so it's likely he has a plan.
He better have a plan. She glances at him as she aims a shot with her rifle, if she's quick she will get a couple of shots in before they get too close.

Closed: Idiot gods do idiot things while everyone CAGE emotes and yells at them later
Thanatos had been fully prepared to scout ahead alone at the point marked on the Red Team's SCAs. It would be good to get some idea of what was there and what would be needed before the team made the long trek. He couldn't shift with another person that far, but he could shift himself there and back easily and quickly. Thanatos's idea was met with objections. He's still not completely sure why.
But Zagreus chimed in with his idea of coming along with Thanatos using shorter shifts instead, and that seemed to be accepted at little more. Out of anyone on the train, Zagreus is the one who'd be easiest to shift small distances with. Thanatos wouldn't lose Zagreus's thread or accidentally the connection to his body. He holds both gently but firmly, tucked close against his own.
They've already shifted a few times and have reached a small resting point. Thanatos looks around for signs of demons while also seeing how Zagreus is handling the repeated shifts. They've never really done this many in such a short period before. "How do you feel? I can try flying us a little ways if you need a break."
no subject
He turns his attention to Thanatos when he's spoken to, shaking his head with a small smile. "Honestly, I'm fine, Than. I'm just hoping we run into whatever it is soon - wouldn't want you to volunteer for a daring mission only to have the rest of Red Team catch up with us before we found out what it was." Zagreus is trying to keep quiet, keep stealthy. His blue clothing still being absolutely covered in ash certainly helps. He hopes Night's Blessing still affords them safety here, as it was a great help to him in the Underworld against all of Hades' might.

Allen Walker | OTA
With Allen, wherever he went his little golden golem friend was always close to hand. They were always inseparable. However, while there were attacks going on it seemed like they had separated.
Timcampy was flying around in a panic, trying to get someone's attention. Anyone's attention at this rate. Please focus on the golem who is flying quickly either in your face or around the head.
What is resting?
When Allen had finally been found and tended to he had been told to take a break, but Allen felt frustrated at that. He wanted to get back in as soon as he could but as he looked at his hand, he knew that there was only so much more he could handle as his left hand seemed to be twitching slightly.
"Just for a bit longer okay, we need to keep going."
Panic on the Mission
Timcampy was very noticeable though, so Raven moved to follow the golem. Something was wrong.

Koumyou Sanzo | a blue guesting with red [OTA +1 Locked]
Koumyou's a touch late to the party, not having been anywhere near purple camp at the time of the attack. But he's here now, probably teleported in by someone. The demons are attacking the camp, and behind them...
Light.
It's as if an entire star was suddenly brought to the surface of this world, so bright it turns everything into a white void, seeming to swallow even sound. And then it dims and Koumyou Sanzo is there in the middle of it, innumerable tendrils of the paper usually around his shoulders floating through the air like seaweed in the water. He himself is glowing, too, like silvery moonlight.
It would be serene if not for the screaming of demons, burning and writhing on the ground.
If not for the smell of demon bodies turned to ragged confetti, ichor everywhere.
If not for the several dozen demon bodies still impaled on indestructible, unnaturally strong paper tendrils, just floating through the air like a dream.
But there's more of them than this one area, and Koumyou Sanzo has surely caught some attention...
🌙 Scouting Ahead - and no one even knew, it was really only you
Koumyou is one of the very few who can go into the demon realm without really suffering much for it. So, that's where he often goes when it's time to kill a gate. Here he is now, flipping over a demon and running it through with his sword, braid whipping behind him, his very holy presence -- is he glowing, slightly? like moonlight -- causing a nice big distraction so that someone else can break the keystone powering the gate.
Teamwork!
🌙 Camp - nice work you did, you're gonna go far, kid
The priest isn't much for sleeping without a certain someone around, but that doesn't mean he never sets foot in the red camp. He still needs to rest somewhat, and eat if he remembers...
Well, when he's reminded, usually by a certain voice in a private call over the SCA.
So here he is, sitting on a log, chewing absently on whatever had been handy, examining the blade of his katana across his robed lap. It seems to be holding up fine, under the gore.
Rather like Koumyou himself -- those robes aren't very white, right now. Ichor and blood and dirt coat him pretty liberally, making it hard to tell if any of the blood is his or not.
🌙 Rescue! - and now you'll lead the way, show the light of day
Shit's gone sideways for you. Maybe you were moving between the camps, maybe you were off on your own scouting, maybe even fighting some demons yourself.
But now there's more of them.
Too many of them.
And shit's gone really, really wrong.
But then there is light. So much light -- too much light -- and everything goes very, very still. And quiet, like the white void swallows even sound.
Your eyes might still not be working when the light dims back down, revealing a lot of very dead demons and one ragged looking Koumyou Sanzo. So it might be his voice you interact with, first.
"Are you okay?"
🌙 Blessing - see the lightning in your eyes, see 'em running for their lives
At the start of the mission, Koumyou had made an offer on the comms, broadcast to anyone listening. Flag him down either in the field or in camp if you want something blessed!
🌙 Resting - [locked to Devero]
( Note: this one's the night before the purple camp ambush. )
Koumyou only comes back to the red camp to sleep at all when he knows, thanks to his SCA, that Devero is there. This is one such occasion, and Koumyou drops down to sit beside the big guy, whether Devero is standing or sitting at the time. The priest doesn't slump against him, not yet; his white robes are coated in demon ichor and the odd human blood splotch.
"I'm okay," he speaks up quickly, even sounding dead tired, "hand me a towel from the ARMs band?"
🌙 Wildcard!
( Y'all know I'm chill, hit me. )
Rescue
But after days of constant fighting and scouting, he was starting to push at the edges of his endurance.
And of course that was when he got ambushed on the way back to the camp. The first few groups he takes care of, leaving a trail of ice and ectoplasmic burns across the ground. But they keep coming, and he keeps fighting them, pulling on the source of ectoplasmic energy at his core to keep going.
Until there was nothing else and he suddenly finds himself human and powerless, facing down an army alone.
This... really wasn't his day. He reaches for the battered thermos hanging on his belt and silently vows to start carrying backup weapons.
And then all he can see is light.

Willow | OTA (with locked prompts + wildcard)
[Oh hell, that is a lot of demons and Willow is already frustrated at how many she's already fought off. Luckily she has more arrows, physical ones, this time and flies off in the direction of the swarm to defend the camp and city.
Find her on the battlefield loosing blasts of magic, arrows, or heals as she tears into the demons with fury. Occasionally tearing into the demons as an enormous long-tailed bird with heat and fire shimmering off of her.]
Locked to Mami, camp
[Willow is not only exhausted, but she's hurt, evidenced by the way one scarlet wing is tucked tight against her back and the pained expression she's wearing as she limps back to camp. These demons aren't much to her on their own solo or up to a group of three, but she drew a few more than that away from everyone knowing she'll survive even if it means a lot of damage.
She bit off more than she could chew with the swarm and barely managed to take them down, but not without being whipped and hit by the poisons. Her jaw clenched, she manages to limp to a nearby stump before just collapsing on the ground with a pained yelp.]
Locked to Vexen, camp
[She really should be resting to recover her energy, but she just can't help but make sure others are taking care of themselves as it goes against her nature to sit around while others could be looked after. However, she's at least behaving enough to bring food to others rather than overexert herself with her magic.]
Vexen, have you eaten yet?
[She calls out as she walks into a tent, seeing the man there doing... whatever it is he's doing. She's got some food and bone broth to drink, in case the man has not eaten yet.]
Wildcard!
