It's only when Madoka steps a little closer to the familiar figure by the waterside that she realises that Ken is actually crying. It wasn't easy to spot it from a distance, but the closer she gets to the other, the more apparent it becomes.
And it makes her stop in her tracks for a moment. Is it okay for her to approach him while he's crying? What if he just wants a moment by himself like that? What if he feels embarrassed that someone saw him like this? But on the other hand.. what if Ken does need some other people to be there for him right now?
