"I meant more that if he gets himself into trouble, let him figure it out. If he upsets someone because he was being loud or rude, let him deal with it. He's a big guy, he can deal with his own arguments, even if they end in fights."

She pauses, how to explain it. "If he gets into a fight, no fault of his own, sure, help if he needs it. I just don't want you to throw yourself into something because he mouthed off to the wrong person or didn't think the long way was worth the time.
