By day eight the Voidtreckers have made a good deal of progress in all their tasks but there is still a lot to do to help the people of the city.

It is around mid morning when there is a message on their comms. For those that want to help it is easy to either find Anan herself or ask for netpoints and scanners to be brought to them by Chiff.

Illusions have gotten worse, uncertainty and fear are rising across all tiers and the situation is becoming more chaotic by the day. Indeed especially on the first and second tiers it seems that the voidtreckers themselves are being targeted, with creatures stalking them and attacks on their minds to make them believe that what they are seeing is real.

Same inside the Spectura system, the vines seem to almost be on the offensive against the voidtreckers though things are getting better outside the game system as more of the vicitms are freed and wake up.

Almost opposite to the situation on the lowest tier, which is getting more chaotic by the day. Anger is bubbling over, people are frightened and in a place like this the only real way to express that fear is through anger.

There has been a lot of progress but there is still a lot of work to do, especially as many of the voidtreckers have started to realise, this all seems a little too familiar.

Casper's own mother, Hel, did that to him? Is unspeakable cruelty something that rulers of the Underworld do to their children? Thanatos only just realized how bad things were for Zagreus, all the pain he hid, all the pain Thanatos hadn't seen.

And Thanatos has to admit his own insecurities about his place in anywhere has been shaken more with Death's appearance. Death being the woman who is not a god and not Death being him, a god. Okay. He can try. Just like with Hypnos. Think of this just like interacting with Hypnos...

"All right. Apology accepted, I think." Thanatos sighs, and he looks to the side, frowning. However, he hasn't left or excused himself. He's trying. He's trying, but when his normal way of coping is just to shift himself to another location, he doesn't know what to do.

"Maybe... limit yourself to one fact per conversation unless prompted for more... or at least for me." Compromise? Something? Maybe Thanatos gets this from his grandparent.

"I'll try." He smiles at Thanatos and lets out a long breath. "... Thanks for stopping me. I... I don't want to hurt people who don't deserve it."

Caspian deserves it. Aiden and the others deserve it. His parents deserve it. Some random civilian? No. Never.

"Now that we know that the illusions from the fighting ring can happen, we can warn others." Blood and darkness... as if he already didn't have enough to keep track of with the normal fights, healing, and avoiding notice for his healing. Damn it. He needs to get to Zagreus.

"Thank me by passing along the information, so others aren't caught unaware and stop those already under them. Can you do that?"

"Will do. Do you know if the illusion will break naturally if people are far enough away?" Magic isn't his specialty - not this kind, anyway. Ask him about demons and he'd be fine. Illusions? Not so much.

"I don't, and with illusions happening outside of the fighting ring now, I don't believe they will." There's no safe area. Not on the fourth tier at least. People are going to get hurt, and it won't be just the Voidtreckers.

"Remember, the illusions aren't always bad things either." But Thanatos doesn't believe for a second that more people will start seeing those illusions instead. He seems to be an oddity from what he's encountered.

"Great. All right, I'll do what I can." He doesn't really have anything that'll dispel illusions, but maybe if he dazes someone for a few seconds it'll hake them out of it. Couldn't hurt to try - it's not like it'll damage them.

"And... yeah. But clinging to an illusion for hope is... it doesn't help anyone."

"No, it doesn't." Thanatos shakes his head. He should be thankful that his illusion with Zagreus was brief. No matter what way it ultimately would have played out, it wouldn't have been good.

"Be careful."
