Essek has to actively fight the urge to hide his face, but the more Caleb talks, the more he can't fight that urge anymore and finds himself burying his face in his hands. After all, he can't put himself into a position of hoping for something he-... He's not good enough, too many wrongs, too much blood. It all runs too deep, nothing he will ever do is safe.
Shaking his head, he removes his hands from his face.
"I--... That sounds more convoluted than it is. We're from the same home world, we're allies and... friends. Though, aspects are complicated between Caleb and his group in regards to myself... there's much we are still navigating and figuring out," Essek keeps composed, unable to look at the other man knowing it will crack it.
