Members of the Voidtrecker Express have been located around the city, and are deploying trickery to agitate and confuse us. EVENT BASICS:

DAYS 5 & 6:

• By now, some people have broken out of their fake lives while some haven't. Tension is rising in the city as people are led to believe this is by the Voidtreckers, which some will believe due to illusions and messing with one's heads is believed to be one of their many tactics.
  
  
• Some oddities are occurring with travel, and glimpses of how the city is made beginning to show. The streams of colour - the void - are getting brighter. Electronics are not working well. Some monster sightings are seen, but not to a large degree.
  
  
• The prompts here are light to give characters and players time to ICly coordinate, as Voidtreckers are being more actively hunted. Some faces are known. You know who you are, troublemakers.

DAYS 7 & 8:

• The world is really starting to go a bit wild now, with more things disappearing, animals on the loose and more monster sightings.
  
  
• By the end of day eight most people have realised the truth though those who are very susceptible to mind control or very stubbornly wanting to believe in this world will still be trapped, believing this is the Voidtreckers doing.
  
  
• There are monsters to fight, people to keep calm and a plan to make.

[ HOME SWEET...HOME? ] By day 5, the people of Jinnjar are in a state of anxiety more than before. There's those who realise they're not a part of this world, never were, while there's those who still cling onto this life. Health services say that the source of confusion comes from the colour trails that are brighter than ever in the sky, while the D-Force/Heroes have it confirmed - internally and publicly - that there are Voidtreckers amongst them.

The media shows pictures of potential suspects, some Voidtreckers, some not; a man with the same face as two others, one who made a show by creating ice in the middle of the street. Your face may be shown, but don't worry - they're asking people not to play vigilante.

That'll surely keep people behaved.

[ TRAVEL REVIEW. ] As if it couldn't get more frustrating, most of the trains are down. Air taxis are still available for short journeys, yet some people have the bizarre occurrence where they end up in the wrong spot, and even remember going in this wrong direction...but never say anything about it. Those using the tele-pads will also find themselves not always arriving where they should, or worse, suffering intense headaches, swirling colours behind their eyes, their thoughts jumbled for as long as ten minutes before it passes.

You might want to walk.

[ MAKING DO. ] Still, with all the chaos, many are trying to live. You have a life here, no matter what some other force is trying to make you believe,

• For our HEROES: The cinema has rethought its showings due to the worrying happenings of the last few days. Clearly a boost in morale is needed and so they have pulled out some of the great films of the past. Action films that show heroes beating the bad guys, disaster films where the good guys beat the aliens, stop the natural disaster or thwart the secret agency looking to take down civilisation from the inside, at the last minute. Even the childrens films have taken on a pro-hero and triumphant air.
  
  It's not quite distraction though, how could it be when every film has a warning before and after. REMEMBER TO REPORT ALL SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO DFORCE and WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE SHOW. REMEMBER TO WATCH YOUR SURROUNDINGS AS CAREFULLY AS YOU DID THE SCREEN.
  
  
• Fun Park: It's for the kids, but one of the largest arcade parks has a special discount on everything to anyone who come visit. It's even advertised across the news: For half the price, get amazing fun and even better food! Kids younger than eight or from the orphanages get free access everywhere!
  
  It's time not to think too hard, and to ignore the trouble! Play laser tag, racing cars or get a high score on the dance mat!
  
  
• Encroaching Dangers: Something new is beginning to happen, as the city continues to shift. It starts at night, those that stay out past when the streets go quiet might see a shadow, might hear a growl.
  
  Rumours and reports start to spread about monsters on the street.

DAY SIX: HELP FROM INSIDE

[ AID. ] DIAGNET is full of videos but one that has started doing the rounds is of a small droid and a cat. It's not hard to see why it has gone viral, the cat and cleaning droid are chasing each other around an apartment, caught on a home security footage. The cat tries to catch the droid but every time it gets close the droid turns to chase it and the cat runs away. It has been uploaded with stirring orchestral music, which adds to the madness.

But... For those Voidtreckers who have already regained their memories that little droid seems familiar indeed. As do the sounds that punctuate the music.

Of course it might not be anything, just weird droid sounds that haven't been fully edited out of the video.

[ MOONDUST CAFÉ. ] It might be that they figured out the message or, it might be that a friend is dragging them to the cafe. But for those that make their way there, they will find the Moondust Cafe is a bustling cafe on the edge of a park, near local transport links.

For those that say the right words, a slightly bored looking teenager manning the counter waves them to a side door. "Best sit downstairs, service will be quicker."

Downstairs has a fair number of tables and booths and is lit by coloured lighting making everything look a little obscure. There's soft music playing, not loud enough to make it impossible to hear each other but enough to make it a little harder for evesdroppers.

Mingle, discuss. This is probably the closest to a safe space there is.

[ LOST & LOST. ] You may have spotted it already - that is, spotted what's missing. There's been the pets, the birds in the sky, a pen or apple or wrench from the garage. But now, with every single bad thing going on, more is starting to disappear. Machines stop working, from air conditioning, freezers, your Jinnjar MP3 player, to TVs and more.

And in some business buildings, even entire rooms are gone, their floors empty of more than the door you opened to find this out. Even the heroes seem worried and they quickly clear any affected areas, chasing away bystanders and sealing off whole wings of office blocks.

None of them have answers though, except that this must be the Voidtreckers doing. After all who else but that group could have power enough to do such damage?


DAY SEVEN & EIGHT: UNRAVELLING

[ OVEREXPOSURE. ] Everything is starting to escalate. The headaches are getting regular the more you're outside, buildings are starting to go missing around the outskirts. People see parts of the city flickering, and when they reach certain sections of the city, they find they can't go beyond it.

Life tries to go on, but as more areas of the city begin to be sealed off and considered dangerous, even those who are most stubborn about pretending everything is normal can see that is is not.

[ LET LOOSE. ] The breaking down of the city has caused a lot of chaos, but one of the biggest problems are that parts of the zoo have vanished. Walls, fences, enclosure roofs. Meaning that the animals inside are no longer confined and are now prowling the city streets. Real birds now fill the sky that the fakes left empty.

And they aren't all that's there. Twisted creatures are becoming more common on the streets of Diagad. Creatures that look almost like animals but warp and twist between them, one moment a bear the next it has horns and then it is a wolf. But no matter how they look those claws and teeth are bad news for everyone.

[ CRUMBLING, CRUMBLING. ] By day eight whole streets are disappearing. homes, houses. people need to be moved in closer around the congress sector. Colours crackle through the sky like lightning and the world shakes often.

It's not just the infrastructure but the memories of those in the city. Dreams have come realities and all but the most stubborn have begun to realise that this world is not their own. They are from another place. What is going on? Why are they in this city? Who are these people who are their 'family'?

Confusion and anger are growing in the streets and it is perhaps time for the Voidtreckers to come out of the shadows.

For a small while the downstairs room in the cafe fills with those who are curious or aware enough to know what is happening. People mingle and chat and the music ebs and flows. Drinks and snacks are available- the 'nutrtea' is just a sweet green tea, probably to the relief of those who remember Kamakan.

A girl in a hoodie, that is certainly not in one of those voidtrecker colours, and an apron serves the drinks, a small droid at her side.

After a while, as people eat and drink she pauses at tables, speaking quietly but loud enough for the table to hear. "We went there, the real Diagad. It's gone."

The droid message, honestly, was a bit of a relief. Emporio has been doing well to stay under the radar, but his anxiety has frankly been rocketting upward the more the city downspirals.

A familiar face among tragedy- one that might have Some ideas- is welcome.

"Right," he agrees, swallowing. "Someone mentioned that the thing from the last planet we helped referred to it. Or...its skies, anyway. But if this isn't the real Diagad, what is it? It's obviously held together with illusion, but there has to be a thing to ground it on right..?"

If there wasn't then....well.

Where would their bodies be? For that matter, how would they be alive?

Danger/Let Loose

It might be a creature you know, or it might be a creature you don't. It might be one of the twisted creatures 'native' to this place. Either way there's someone in between you and it right now, a strange staff in his hands. There's a brief flare of power and then a burst of fire directed towards the creature, followed up swiftly by a burst of lightning.

He turns to the person he's been helping out and smiles, cat ears finally visible along with a lashing tail.


Lost

Nara'a is good at helping people. He's made a career and an accidental heroic mission out of it, after all. That said, he keeps running around asking people if they've seen various objects. A TV, whatever that is. A game console (likewise). Three books, a cat, and a left shoe.

He's starting to get frustrated, and he's not sure what to do about it.


Warrior of Light

He can't keep going forever. Even the Warrior of Light needs to take a break sometimes. He doesn't seem to have anywhere to go, so Nara'a decides to find an isolated area of the park to practice.

At first it's standard - going through movements of attacking and defending with his staff. But then there's a shift in the air and suddenly the clothes he's wearing shift from robes to armor, a lance in his hand. There's a crackle of energy as he jumps and dives down onto the taller branches of the tree he's been targeting, the resulting crack louder than he'd intended.

Oops.

"No sir!" He shook his head. "I've not seen any left shoes. Except the one on my foot!"

He shakes his foot, his right foot. "I can help you look though!"

OVEREXPOSURE

Earlier that day an entire warehouse and its contents disappear. One moment Murphy's back is turned as he directs a driver, the driver gasps at the wondrous bullshit that happens behind him, and he turns to observe an empty space.

By now he knows, he's just been hanging with it because he doesn't particularly have the want to bother with it. It was an easy ruse to play along with, but this is too much. It's that that makes him drop his clipboard and barcode scanner right there on the concrete and just walk off. He's done! He's out! Bye bye!

By the time he finds someone on the sidewalk, he's in back in the trappings of a black suit with a red shirt, his theme being fully on. "Look, I've played along with some powerful dick's bullshit before? But I know when to get out. This is 'getting out' time."

LET LOOSE

There's a whole flock of bipedal ostrich things with snake heads, and he is not about it. Nope nope nope. He's not had to run like this since bounty hunters were after him.

He runs into a corner store to get away from them, shoving a magazine rack in front of the door. Then backs away slowly as the bipedal snake headed whatsits gather outside, looking in through the window menacingling.

Murphy stares through the window, before spreading his arms and shouting a dramatic, "The fuck?!"

"...Wait are you the guy from the podcast?" whispers a mortified teenager from behind the register, glancing between him and the window. "Big fan."

"....Thank you?!" replies Murphy, before he starts looking for weapons that he can improvise. This is what he gets for not just having his sword cane on him.

Tannis is upset. Not for the reasons normal people are, oh no, she's perfectly fine being subjected to the illusions, that is utterly fascinating and she has all sorts of questions she would like to ask and likely will never get real answers to, but that just means that she gets to theorize, and that's even better!

No, she is mad that now she has to deal with monsters roaming the streets for no apparent reason except to be annoying. And worse than that, the people yelling and screaming and making a righteous racket. Not that the animals are any quieter, but they're at least more interesting than people. And some of their appearances are horrifically intriguing.

Somehow, she is both relieved and disappointed that her own powers returned when her actual memory did. At least she knows how to control these ones, but she'd felt...weirdly close to Lilith when she'd been Phasewalking instead, even if she hadn't known who Lilith even was. And that is an oddly emotional thought that she immediately quashes. No time for emotion, she needs to find some quiet.

Seeing as she can't take much more, she pauses for a moment as her eyes and tattoos flash blue light, and her ethereal white wings lift her off the ground and out of reach of the monsters and people crowding around beneath her. Right now all she wants is to get back to the train, but as she moves through the air and down the road, she grabs any machines she can, and abandons all subtlety to simply throw them as hard as she can psychically manage at anything in her way.

And then she sees a familiar flash of red out of the corner of her eye. She's tempted to just leave him there, but her better nature wins out and she drops to the ground while simultaneously taking out the giant...bird...things.

She doesn't try to open the door. She's not that stupid. He's probably ready to strike at whatever walks in the door without even looking, so instead she stands outside and calls into the building.

"I suppose you'll be wanting a rescue."

Not Actually Something To Tag
There were dreams. Confusion. But not enough to break, not enough pressure, not until day five. Or rather...the evening.

Adrien was walking home, head pounding, not paying enough attention when a monster arrives. He doesn't notice....but Plagg does. And Plagg will not let it anything hurt Adrien.

Adrien turns at the sound of the yowl, to see teeth inches from his face....and then the creature turning to ash in front of him, Plagg's paws outstretched in the air. And then-

He touched the girl, he watched her metal body decay, watched as she went limp-

He collapses to his knees as guilt crashes into him. Then more and more and more and as he looked up, for the first time, he sees his cat isn't a cat...but Plagg. And he curses himself for falling for this. He would need to catch up with Plagg, with so much, but for now-

"Claws out."

Encroaching Dangers
Are you out after dark? Were you as careless as Adrien had been? Are you ready to fight?

Well, maybe you won't have to be, because if a monster is harrying you, there will be a helpful cat drop kicking the monster from above.

Aid
.....listen, cat videos relax him. And right now, he needs to relax. So Adrien watched it, but while he doesn't recognize the droid, he does recognize the noises.

He perks up, playing it a few times. "That's morse code..." In case anyone else was struggling. Some people have weird skills when they grow up isolated from everyone else!

Fun Park
Listen, there is a draw in just having fun and that's true.

But Adrien has a secondary motive for taking part. He's looking for kids who seem a little TOO skilled at laser tag. Whose reaction time for video games is weirdly good. Because he suspects there may be reasons for that.

But also it is fun to play laser tag.

Lost and Lost
Chat Noir has found a perch and he's looking out for 'Heroes' blocking off things that are disappearing. He has a mask, he has a secret identity, he has quantum masking. Its time to use it.

Some heroes might be minions.

Some may be brainwashed.

And, well, brainwashed is his specialty.

And he was a destroyer. He was going to wake as many people as he could and if that means getting into fights, so be it. But for now, he needed to find people.

Let Loose
Well, this was familiar.

Chat Noir can't just let people be attacked by wild animals or monsters. So he's doing something he doesn't usually do, and focusing on dragging creatures away from any people and with a force of will....

Creates cages from seemingly nothing to seal them in.

Hopefully those last longer then whatever is making this place.

But it takes him time to do. Creation is difficult for him and sometimes it takes a little long to make something. There just might be times those creatures have some friends he doesn't know about....

The next day Adrien is looking for people. The people he recognized.

He was going to wake them up, one way or the other. Plagg hidden away on his person now.

Family

For the past couple nights, Nino's been having weird dreams. Mainly involving some girl he couldn't remember and some location....Paris? Not helped with him dealing with headaches he's been having since yesterday.

It's not been enough to wake him or Wayzz up.

At the moment, Nino is sitting at a bench in the park, with Wayzz next to him. He's rubbing his forehead trying to deal with the annoying headache.

"Man, fresh air doesn't seem to be working. I should just get some pain killers."

Wayzz doesn't seem too happy either, even looking pretty sad. Or as sad as a turtle can show.

Cinema
Razzy wasn't a fan of liars. She wasn't a fan of manipulation. And when she heard what movies were doing....well, she decided to do a bit of work of her own.

So there may be some cinemas with the screen painted in large black letters. 'THEY'RE LYING TO YOU. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.'

Now someone may catch this vandal in the act. A floating girl with white hair.

Fun Park
Children were underestimated. It happened. There was a protectiveness people had on them that sometimes interfered with being allowed to help, even when the child was very competent, thank you very much!

But it was why Razzy was here, as a human, playing the games.

And feeling things out. "So you think there's anything to the adults freaking out about Voidtreckers?" She asked idly.

Encroaching Danger
Razzy is not actually a hero. She doesn't go out of her way to fight every single bad guy and save the day and all that. She is, however, a good person with superpowers so like, she's not gonna IGNORE the danger.

Also doesn't respect curfews.

So if she happens to be seeing a monster attack on someone, she will be coming in like the tiny lightning bruiser she is and send them flying.

She may also just phase random monsters in the sewers if its not too troublesome so people may be seeing that.

Lost and Lost
Well, when places are getting locked down, there is clearly things wrong. So she decides to help.

'CAN YOU REMEMBER WHAT'S INSIDE?'

'DO YOU KNOW WHY ITS CLOSED? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?'

Vandalism can be surprisingly effective. She may approach people she sees trying to remember. Or maybe she gets caught.

Crumbling Crumbling
Razzy isn't much for falling for the false life. She's on the look out for anyone who seems to be falling into the illusion.

Intent on finding ways to wake them up.

These could be as delicate as questions or...well, there's a few skills to brute force it.

Encroaching Danger

In the end, Maglor's memory returned not through Dani's efforts, not that she didn't try - he'd been happy, in their home - very definitely had not WANTED to remember. But Curufin is here, Curufin, who Maglor sang lullabies to and taught his letters, Curufin at whose wedding Maglor sang, whose child Maglor dandled, Curufin, who Maglor sang to his final rest, whose body Maglor consigned to the flames himself. Curufin is here, and for his brothers, Maglor would do anything at all.

But Dani was right, when she asked him if he was a father before. She's not his daughter, not truly, but already he begins to love her as if she were his own, even with scant few days to know her, and he follows her, when she goes out monster hunting, trying to stay back, for he does not wish her to be upset with him.

Fighting Fire With Fire
Shadow was pissed. He did not like being lied to. He did not like being manipulated. More than that...

He did not like people messing with What Was His. Link and Zelda were his and they had been messed with and that meant it was time to cause chaos.

Step one, finding anyone who wasn't a person he recognized, DForce, or Hero. From there, he just needed to get close to their shadow.

From there, he'd use his own dark magic and attempt to take control of their mind. Just a moment, he didn't want control. He just wanted to kick hard at the enforced illusion.

It wasn't the NICEST way to break a person free, but he hopes it's Effective.

A Degree of Subtlety
But if they are someone he knows, Dforce, or a hero, Shadow will approach with more care. Put on a look of concern.

"Is it true? Are Voidtreckers as dangerous as they say?"

Heroics
Shadow had decided to try the hero thing years ago. He hasn't done terrible, but Nautilus allowed for a lot of people to defend themselves. So he didn't have to defend people a ton.

Who can say in this place. He doesn't know Voidtreckers. He doesn't know the others here. What he does know is himself.

So some people may find monsters coming out of the darkness, be it the nightly monsters, or the shifting ones from the zoo.

But they will also see another thing from the darkness, a shadowy form in an outfit that doesn't match this place, a tunic and long hat, with sword and shield. But the form will only be a shadow, with no color, and will fiercely fight off any creature.

Overexposure
Shadow is making it a might to find people who start to notice that things aren't quite right in the city and seem confused by it.

"Did ya see that?"

Kyoko trusted the heroes to figure out how to fix whatever was wrong with this place. All she could do is fix what she herself had done. Which meant looking for the people she had acted weird - even by her standards - to.

Shadow would get to spot her as she was turning, getting a split second head start on her. Because frankly her outfit was so painfully brightly pink that there was no way NOT to see it. Even from the corner of your eye.

As a note, Sunset Shimmer has a massive tattoo with fiery wings coming up around her neck, to a rose in between her shoulders, and fiery vine tail along her side. Both present as human and unicorn.

Making Do
When Sunset remembers, its nothing harsh or dramatic. She's suffered complete amnesia twice. She regularly has other memories dumped into her head. The dreams just kept coming and coming until finally, she remembers being in the parking lot of her school. Of destroying the stone. The rush of her memories returning.

Along with everything after.

When she wakes up, she realizes what's happened. And she's annoyed.

But she knows making a scene isn't exactly a good thing.

Well, its a good thing she doesn't need to make a scene.

Instead, she puts on a terracotta dress, and she goes about her day.

However, she makes it a very regular thing to touch people, doing whatever she can to seem casual, and she focuses her power. Her empathy is a powerful thing, it lets her feels things, but it also lets her see memories. And she knows that it also allows her to see when memories have been tampered with.

Reality that bleeds into the fake.

So its simple.

She wants to know what people were doing the week before she woke up here, to see if they're awake or if they need help.

Travel Review
Its a shame about that hoverbike.

But Sunset has other ways to travel. And she figures if she has the ability to transform, why not use that?

So, you may be going about your day. Getting coffee or food. Just trying to ignore all the weird.

Then a unicorn just appears nearby in a shower of red sparkles. She may be standing her full under four foot height. She may be sitting on a counter. She may be balanced on a tree branch. Either way, she's going for noticeable.

"Hi, I'm a unicorn from another dimension, how's your day going?" She asked in the most chipper tone.

Because sometimes the direct approach just works better.

Moondust Cafe
She doesn't know Morse Code. But she's good at picking up things without getting noticed. It takes a while, but eventually she finds a Voidtrecker. And then she finds the cafe.

So now she's sitting in the Moondust cafe, studying those around her as she drinks a shake.

Monsters
The monsters are a Problem. Luckily, Sunset is used to dealing with monsters. And even more luckily is that power to just be a unicorn.

Empathy powers ain't great for monsters and without her friends, she can't do any of her Friendship is Magic stuff.

But she can be a unicorn and can make a fireball.

So someone may be saved by the squishiest, most adorable bundle of fire magic.

For Loki
Shortly after Sunset's wake up call, she skips school. Because she has a mission. The fact was, Loki was drawn to her. She's almost certain he's HER Loki.

So she sends a message to him, says she needs to talk to him. Somewhere private, heading to an isolated part of the park. She waits for him, kicking off her shoes. Terracotta dress, no shoes, she hopes it does something for his memory.

But she has a feeling it won't be so easy.

He had seemed so happy.

For 'Family'
Sunset had no idea who these people were. They weren't her family. But...

They had been kind to her. They had showed her kindness and care. And Sunset could not leave them to this illusion.

She's skipped school. She's supposed to be at work. But there are more important things. She heads home, hoping to find them, to see if they're still under. And if not, how she could help them.

Hopefully she could be gentle about it.

Loki has been sleeping slightly better since he reported his dreams and got a medicine to keep them at bay, but he's still very much not at peak performance. When he gets Sunset's message, he almost doesn't understand what it is before his brain kicks into gear. Then starts guessing at what she's not saying. Has she learned something? Found a Trecker? Invited one to talk? Norns forbid- are they holding her hostage?

He tries to remain calm and remind himself that she's almost certainly not in danger as he hurries to the meeting place, but his fears (and his exhaustion) still show on his face as he arrives. He waves to her as soon as he sees her and hurries over.

Home Sweet.... Home?

Kyoko was one of the images on the screen. After all, they were looking for odd people who stood out. And... Kyoko as she was now... stood out. A lot. It didn't help that the image they caught of her was in her bright pink - so pink it is a curse, once you see it you can never unsee it, it will burn your retinas - work uniform. You almost couldn't avoid seeing her when she flashed on the screen.

As for the rest, well she had just moved to town recently... right? And... on closer look, things didn't add up. The teachers all thought her parents moved with her also, after all. That she was living with friends of their as an experiment as independence before college. Except...

There are no other Mogamis in town. Just her. No one has ever seen her parents. And she seems to have like... a ton of different jobs? And always seems panicked, like someone might find out her secret? And avoids getting close to people? How could anyone NOT think she was one of these Voidtreker people?

Kyoko saw her own image on a large screen in a public area and just... stared, shocked.

A memory. Stopping outside the 109 and seeing on the screen up there... A girl with long dark hair in a school uniform. MOKO! Flushing, thrilled to see how wonderful Moko looked. So happy and pleased and proud. Then... herself. Also playing and frolicking in the flowers with Moko. Embarrassment. Squirming. Then hearing people talking about the commercial. Praising Moko. She was so happy. And then... calling her plain and boring, like someone they could pass on the street. Anger. Like they were Sho's minions.

While staring at herself on the screen, people looking at Kyoko could see her go wide eyed and smile, and... blush. She bounced, lost in the memory, seeming to sparkle. Seeming? No! The air around her WAS sparkling. Then her face fell and she paled. Squirmed as if wanting to hide. Then beaming happily and sparkling again. And then... Fury. The Sparkles were gone.

"So what if I'm plain and boring and have no **** appeal," she growled at the screen. Seeming furious, she turned and stalked off down the street. She has totally spaced on WHY her image had actually been on the screen...

Travel

It is a good thing that Kyoko always had a back up to mass transit and rarely could afford air taxis. She had a bike. Not a motorcycle. A bike. Girly pink with space for someone to sit behind her if they don't mind getting cozy.

She had already drawn attention as a bike messenger in that hot pink work outfit. But now that more people were walking or otherwise more people could notice. And they would have more to notice than just her outfit. Her speed and recklessness were also quite noticeable.

Awake now

The sad thing about asking "who would have guessed it would have taken arguing with a unicorn about Faeries to bring Kyoko back to reality?" is that the answer would be Kyoko herself. Because that was exactly the sort of lala thing that happened in her head. Kyoko's life was a constant cycle of magical day dreams and harsh awakenings into reality.

So Kyoko was once again herself. And aware of herself. And she... had a lot of apologizing to do. She was looking for anyone she had interacted with while she was under the weird effect, to appologize to them. The whole world was falling apart, but she had faith in the people with magic - real magic, not like the small bit she actually learned in Avalon - that they could fix things with the world.

She was just... Just Kyoko. So she would fix things with the people she upset, instead.

Also... now she knew who her dark self must have been. She'd caught glances of video captured and posted. Mio. Well, that fear...

Actually that was still a potential problem. Just not in the same way. Now that Kyoko was herself, Mio should be herself as well. So asl long as Misao and Katsuki didn't show up, Kyoko should be able to keep her from attacking anyone...

The fact that the black outs were so similar to the ones she'd had in Avalon bothered her though, but she didn't know who to talk to...

Making Do
Wash was getting sick and tired of how much his memory is getting fucked with. Its not like his head was in a great place to begin with, but noooo, he has to keep forgetting his life so he can relive it over and over and now this time he had a relatively pleasant life and to find out its fake.

Well. At least this time he didn't flirt with Aoko. Small favors.

As it is, Wash is still acting with the DForce. Looking for Voidtreckers. Maybe working with someone, maybe not. But he fully plans to report how they got away. Or prevent his partner from getting any.

Frankly, the powers that be are suspect number one for messing with his head and he has no intentions of helping them.

Monsters
He protects people. Its what he DOES. At least these days. There was a while he was kind of a raging asshole, but he's been given more opportunity to do good and he's actually pretty happy to take it.

It helps when he can kill things to do it.

He may be a little bloodthirsty.

But what matters is protecting the person, so he will prioritize their safety and then killing the monster. Be it with bullets, knives, or freezing them in place with a strange power before snapping their neck.

He may have a magic necklace that helps.

Moondust Cafe
He knows Morse Code. He wants to know more of whats going on. So for anyone in there, they might see this brickhouse of a man eating the most sugar filled parfait, studying those around him. And looking for any familiar faces.

Lost and Lost
He is helping seal off disappearing places with heroes and others of the DForce. Listening to chatter, but more focused on those he's working beside. Looking for those who seem to most unsettled. For those who might be ready to be convinced that maybe those in charge weren't being exactly honest.

Demyx however, was not most people.

He was sitting in a booth, next to Agent Washington looking a bit like a lost little lamb.

A moment later, the cup filled with water on its own, as Demyx tapped a rhythm on the tabletop. Not recognizable to him, perhaps, but maybe suspicious.

Day Five

Everything was wrong. Her dad was acting strange, the city was going mad. People were talking nonsense all over the place but she was determined to hold it together. Live her life as normal and so she was absolutely taking advantage of the half price arcade park.

She enjoys the shooting games, the driving games and the dance mat where she is currently on a win streak. She smirks at the next person. "Think you can win?"

Otherwise she is playing lazer tag. Sneaking around, clambering over obstacles and absolutely taking advantage of her super power to create clones of herself if she's ever cornered. Good luck there's three children here, but only one counts as a hit...

Day Seven

Right. So. Things are not normal and it is pretty plain to Buttercup what has happened here. Those stupid heroes at DFORCE have failed. The Voidtreckers have infiltrated the city and this destruction is their fault.

She's scared but she's also angry. This is her city. She has friends here, her dad and brother are here even though she's not sure where either of them are right now. She's been moved with a group of other people away from a crumbling area.

But enough was enough.

"LISTEN UP!" There are four identical girls stood on tables in the lobby of one of the buildings where people were meeting. They speak in one voice.

"We have to stop being so stupid and scared. These voidtreckers are in the city. So we have to fight them. We can't let them get away with this!"

She's seen a lot of movies, she knows that all people need is a rousing speech in order to win the day. "They might be among us now! We need to find them and we need to stop them or this city will be gone!"

Most speech making heroes in movies come past the average persons chest though...

Day Five

She was winning, was she? Rui grinned a little bit.

"Of course I can win." She told the child, and she would do it in heels.

"Pick whatever song you want!" She declared boldly.

Jane nearly chokes on her brandy when the afternoon news comes on and she sees her husband's face among the montage of suspected Voidtreckers. Well, kriff. Jon, really? Her Jon? He couldn't even hurt a fly.

... okay, he could, who was she kidding. He works in a training gym for a reason, and dabbles in some other sketchy trade on the side. Not that he knows that she knows. Or that that's precisely what she married him for.

Still, he's bound to get into some trouble with his face out in the open like that, so she starts to suit up while she finishes the rest of her drink. She's been drinking a lot more in the past day or two, since the flashes and the headaches started, but a part of her feels she's not even drinking enough, though she also can't put a finger to why she believes so.

"Watch the house," she says to their cat as she passes Neufie on the counter, giving her a scritch under the chin before tapping the pendant in the center of her collar. Then she heads to the garage, gets on the hover-motorcycle her husband doesn't know she owns, and speeds off to the educational and political district of the city, where the training centers are. She'll stalk him home if she has to, to make sure he comes back in one piece.

She tells herself she's only doing this for the job.

He's not even sure what it is he's done to put his face all over the news, if he's being honest. He's been trading news about Voidtrackers or suspected ones to others in the city, which has a question of why would he do that if he was one of them. It doesn't make any sense. But, well, it doesn't really matter anymore does it? Because his face splashed across the news meant that those in town who were actively hunting those suspected or confirmed were going to be coming after him.

It's even worse because he hasn't seen the news, he's been in with clients for the day. So when he shrugs on a black jacket and heads outside, he's not sure why people are suddenly looking at him funny. Or why people start to get confrontational with him as he nears the transit he uses to head home. Though it comes to a head when someone makes a jarring comment about taking him in.

And while the blow Jon lands is good and solid, three others take up arms to defend the one Jon hit.

Jeremy's been having a fine couple of days. No anxiety, no tenuous social standing, no problems! Which feels... eerie, and familiar, but good. It's good. Everything's fine -

Until he takes a tele-pad shortly before they're reported as broken. A headache - no, a migraine, not that Jeremy has had one before - knocks him on his ass as he swears he hears a familiar voice. It starts in the back of his mind and forces itself to the forefront.

The shouts in Japanese don't make any more sense to Jeremy than the swirling hallucinations (which fade into auras and then nothingness as he gets his bearings). When it's over, something in his head slots into place. Jeremy's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's had his world flipped and turned upside down enough times to realize that something odd is going on. And there's always been one specific person who can fix it.

Rich.

He's gotta find Rich again.

Jeremy shakily gets to his feet and makes for the park where he last saw Rich. As he passes through busy walkways and narrow corridors, his head filling up with spiraling worry until he's outright sprinting.

(A digital display on the sidewalk lights up under his feet, trilling out a note with every footstep until Jeremy's gone again.)

Things have been... weird, the last few days. People have been more agitated than usual, not often staying to listen to the music he's playing. The colours in the sky have become more blinding, and looking at them reminds Rich of the strange nightmares he's been having, as much as he's been trying to avoid thinking about them. Everyone's stressed, including his siblings. Rich has been trying to push his thoughts aside, focus on reaching out and keeping his siblings together, so he doesn't at all need to think about the possibility that this isn't his family...

Because it isn't one. This is where Rich has always belonged, and he's not going to fuck that up by entertaining some messed up dreams.

He's sulking in the park, idly strumming at his guitar, when he hears someone approaching. He looks up to see that guy from before, but he looks like he's on the verge of a panic attack. Rich frowns, putting his guitar to the side, and immediately, he reaches out to grab the boy's shoulders.

"Hey. Woah there, man. Are you alright there?"

Senku was leaning into his world-given powers – and that man was going to be very sorry he gave them to him. He would put out his wish.

At this point, Senku was working in the shadows a little bit, and he was going to have to try a new tactic because he was notably one of the suspected Voidtreckers.

He wanted to wake everyone he could, and preferably, not get caught. Time would tell if his luck would hold.

Investigative Vigor

He spoke to Anan, of course he did.

There were things to do, people to look for, but more importantly he wanted to tackle the illusion itself.

Senku could be found at the edge of the area, where those who were broken out of the illusion could see the transportation system between two areas.

People were coming and going, after a pause in the suspension.

Senku was taking notes and walking up and down the length slowly, looking for weak points. The immense power had to be a clue.

Troublemaker

After a good day of observation, trying to see the ins and outs of the system in question, he put out the call – specifically to those he knew were awake.

Willing to fight back? Let’s give it a shot. 23:00. Bring your amulet and your magic.

He stood next to Gen, watching anyone willing to come gather, glancing back at the power source and back at those willing to help. He rolled up his sleeves as though he were going to be getting to work on something particularly intricate.

“Count of three and give it all you’ve got!”

He was putting himself in the position of identifiable troublemaker and rabble rouser and he was willing to face whatever backlash became of it.

Gen addressed the team of people who were willing to help them, standing at Senku's side. This was a risky move, because it would definitely attract attention. But while it was a gamble - sometimes a gamble with long odds was worth the risk.

And he'd figure out how to get them out of trouble somehow, he reasoned. Hopefully. If their luck seemed to hold.

"Have all of your magic words, reagents, or special little focus of spells ready!" Gen instructed the other Voidtreckers. "We'll want to attack the illusion all at once, riiight here. On a count of three - let's give it a magic shove! One .... Two .... "

Day 7, Morning
Takato worried.

As the days went on, it seemed like everything made less and less sense. People were angry and scared, and Takato, never very skilled at filtering out others emotions, spent more and more time struggling with his empathic ability.

Worse, his brother had been gone from the house a lot, and when he did come back it was like something was distracting him.

By the morning on the seventh day Takato had decided. He couldn't do anything about what was happening to the rest of the city. But maybe he could at least find out what was bothering his brother so much.

The trip into the city goes well at first. As had been his habit recently, Takato mostly sticks to the less crowded areas. It helped a little with his headache from all of the emotions filling the city.

But midway down a street. It finally happens. One of the twisted animals leaps out at them and pins Guilmon to the ground. What was a wolf's paw twists into some kind of reptilian claw as it reaches out for the small creature.

Takato cries out and runs toward his friend, not thinking about the danger and-

Guilmon was trapped, pinned against the building by the larger digimon. This entire fight, Takato had been struggling, fighting against the break in his trust for his friend. But now... all he could think was that Guilmon could die, and their argument would be the last thing he remembered.

"GUILMON!"

As the illusion finally shatters, in Takato's pocket the device that he'd thought to be some kind of electronic toy comes to life. And Guilmon begins to glow and change, becoming a red dinosaur that towers over the creature that had attacked him. One blast of fire and it was gone.

Day 7, Late Morning:
As happy as Takato was to finally be free of the illusion, and to be able to help. He now had a Problem.

Guilmon had evolved to Growmon during the fight. And until the boost of energy wore of, Takato needed to find a place to safely hide a bright red dinosaur the size of a building.

He stands beside Guilmon in the alley they had taken shelter in, and thinks.

"Maybe you could pretend to be part of a playground again?"

Hera worried. It was in her nature.

She'd realized some time ago that these weren't her family, this wasn't her life. But they were still kids and someone had to look out for them. Try to find a way to keep them safe in all this. So she tried to keep up appearances so she could do that.

It was a wonder no one noticed they were suddenly ordering an awful lot of takeout. But pizza is always appreciated, right?

And this was the sort of situation she tried to keep up appearances for. "Takato!"

She's still got that handy flight ability to get her over closer, though she's not sure how much she can do about this creature hand to hand.

Not as much as Guilmon can, it appears. Wormmon told her it could happen, but she'd never seen it.

Usagi misjudged her actions. She had easily overcome her brainwashing and had tried to rattle Mimi out of her illusion. All that gave her was not only her stuck with a pair of handcuffs, one cuff hanging off her wrist, and pictures of her flashing on screens.

There's no way she can head back to her home now. With a sigh, she'll keep to the shadows, hoping to find other Voidtrekkers.

If not, she'll figure out a way to keep going. She's done this song and dance for a year.

Encroaching Dangers

Monsters wandering around? That's not good at all. Usagi'll have to get to the bottom of this. The world feels like it's falling apart now. Of course, she'll have to be on her guard - it might be a monster, it might be an ambush.

Of course, it's happening at night. Always at night back home, too...

Still, she's on her guard...

Let Loose

Ooooookay, everything is falling apart even more and more. Now it's affecting the wildlife! Usagi had already saved a group of passerby from a tiger and now it has wings?

And they are quite dangerous, too, as the tails of her longcoat are torn by the claws of the creature.

"Who or whatever is controlling this world has lost its mind! It'll kill everyone if we don't do anything about it!"

Crumbling, Crumbling

This is crazy. More and more people are starting to "wake up" from the illusions and there is confusion and fear going on. Someone needs to stand up and lead them. Usagi doesn't want to - she's no leader - but if no one else will...

Using her Moon Stick to unleash a burst of magic, she'll get everyone's attention the best she can.

"Everyone, listen! I know you're scared and confused, but together, we can work through this! Yes, I am a Voidtrekker, but I and my companions are NOT the cause of this. None of us are that powerful. But, if we work together, trust each other, we can figure out what is going on and get everyone home safely!"

On the Run
He doesn't know how it happened or when exactly, but apparently he has been found out. Everywhere he goes people have been staring at him. Sometimes they just turn and hurry away. So far no one has been violent or attempted to take him to wherever they plan to corral Voidtreckers. But he has decided it is safer not to take the chance. He stays within the confines of this fake house, waiting for the moment when this too decides to fade into nothing.

But that also means he has a hard time getting information on how to help. He tries to contact people he knows are aware of things but eventually even that becomes a failure as the piece of technology stops working.

He sits down in the middle of the floor and closes his eyes. he needs to clear his head and meditation is the best means to do so. Just as he is settling there is a knock at his door. He stands back up and walks towards it. He pulls the door open. Not afraid if it is someone coming to take him away. He looks at the person on the other side of the door wordlessly. They came to see him so they might as well initiate the conversation.

Let Loose
He finally can't stay inside any longer. With animals and chaos running amok in the streets, Lan Wangji has to do something. But he doesn't want to hurt any of the animals just in case they are real. She is tries to catch what he can and what seems to be constantly changing form, he is a little less friendly with. The ones that are having such issues are more likely to just be illusions. At least that is what he is guessing as he sets to work trying to stop them from hurting anyone.

He is used to combat with strange things so none of this is very new for him. But he never unsheathes a sword in order to fight. What good is fighting fake creatures with a real weapon? He simply uses what is around him and tries to keep his focus so that he can tell what is real and what isn't.

He has just finished caging another of the real animals when someone comes up on him. He looks up at them and then sets the cage down. "This needs to be returned."

Yondu finds Wangji in the middle of caging one of those animals. He glances over him quickly, carefully, and asks a- "No offense but I cain't tell which one you are right now."

His roommate/other lead? Not his roommate? He's just... It's a day, it's just a real bad day. He's been out trying to find other blue team folks and it's a little harder what with cell phone towers disappearing along with everything else and all hell having thoroughly broken loose.

Probably more to come but isn't there always more of that?

"I'll give ya a hand." He moves to pick the cage up. "Where did thisn' get loose from or do you know?"

Day 5-Waking up

This wasn't right. None of this was right. Razz was sure of it. She remembered being here. Having her shop, living her life in relative peace.

But she also remembered different things. The Whispering Woods. Her little hut. Swift Wind; a Pegasus, not a man with wings. And perhaps most of all... "Mara! And Adora!"

She immediately swung into gear, though what gear might not be exactly clear to anyone observing. She grabbed an old canvas rucksack and began searching through the various items in her shops back room, tossing some aside and stuffing others into the bag. She then headed out into the shop itself and proceeded to do the same thing with some of the merchandise on display. This time, if she heard the little bell above the door jingle, she barely looked up. "Sorry, dearie, no time to chat today! Razz is in the wrong place! She needs to get back to Etheria!"

Day 7- Let Loose

Well this could hardly be called a fair fight. Razz was facing down one of the twisted, shifting monsters. "RAZ-ZLE DAZ-ZLE!", she shouted, punctuating each syllable by whacking the monster with her broom. Unfortunately, it was about as effective as one would think an old woman hitting such a creature with a broom would be. The creature was being kept at arm's length for the moment, if only by sheer confusion, but the length of its arms- and other appendages- could change at a moment's notice. Razz could probably use some help.

Day 8- Crumbling

Razz hurried along, following a group of people who were being forced to evacuate to the city center, though it wasn't clear if she was really part of it. "Oh dear...", she said to herself. "Razz couldn't do anything to help before, and now it's happening here too. No Mara and no Adora either." But no, that was a good thing. It meant that Adora was still on Etheria, keeping it safe. Just like Mara had.

She knew there were people trying to help. She'd seen them around, and maybe they'd seen her too. But she didn't know where to find them. And didn't know if they'd pay any mind to a strange old lady. Still, she had to do something! And soon. The magic holding this world together was rapidly unraveling around them.

Well, this looks... Ok, this looks kind of hilarious, there's a little old lady whacking a horrible tentacle-bear-whatever with a broom. But it also looks like the thing is probably going to eat said little old lady once it manages to process that it is, in fact, being beaten with a cleaning implement, and that would suck.

Beau puts two fingers to her lips and whistles sharply, then darts towards Razz and the monster, pivoting at the last second to whip around to the monster's side and deliver a sharp one-two punch beneath its ribcage. Pop pop.

She hits hard. If the obnoxious noise hadn't caught its attention, the pain certainly ought to.

Apparently the illusion has well and truly gotten a hold on Madoka. Even as some slight things were starting to seem more and more off, she kept believing in it, just going through the days hoping for things to get better.

But they didn't get better. Everything is getting more and more strange, and even Madoka can't deny that there's something very wrong at this point, even if her mind isn't sure what is wrong or why any of this is happening. Why is sometimes seems like buildings disappear or flicker.

It leaves her wandering the streets in fear and confusion.. though that might be the exact wrong move to make, considering the situation.

Because it doesn't take long for one of the warped creatures to start hunting her. At least Madoka does try running from it, but there's only so much one teenage girl can do in the middle of a dangerously twisting city. After a while she ends up in the dead end of an alleyway, her back pressed against the wall as the creature - that shifts from the shape of an odd, monstrous goat to a lion - slowly approaches her.

Noctis had been searching the streets for people - whether or not he recognized them - in need of help. It's the only thing he could think of to do. And what was he always told? Show people the sort of person he was through his actions? If he wanted to prove to everyone the Voidtreckers weren't here to hurt people - helping them would go a long way towards that.

He wasn't expecting to see Madoka cornered in an alleyway - he felt his heart freeze. They might not really be cousins, be family. But she's still his friend. And no matter what - if it was Madoka, or even Iris or Lunafreya back home - if his friends needed his help, he'd do whatever he could to save them.

And just like in those situations, instead of checking with his other teammates - he simply reacted as if it was his duty to save her alone.

"Madoka!" Noctis shouted, and warped forward, coming in between the creature and Madoka. That's nothing she hadn't seen before. But - what she wasn't probably expecting was him using a power he'd never had in the illusion. From apparent thin air with magic crackle, the Shield of the Just appeared in his hand, blocking the monster's claws from raking down on them both.

Like A Fish Out Of...

Mimi wasn't sure what happened. One moment she was fighting a strange girl in a sailor outfit before getting swung against a wall. When she finally came too... she was... this? Just what happened to her? The easiest explanation, and the one the illusion exploited, was that the girl used some of her magic to make her into an octopus, but there was too many things that didn't add up.

One thing is for certain, she couldn't stay out in the open. She needed help. She needed to go somewhere safe. Unfortunately, octopi aren't really built to travel on land and one may find a strange sight of a magenta octopus pulling itself from place to place, trying desperately to make it to her home.

Hopefully a sushi chef doesn't find her first...

Home Sweet... (locked to Essek and Caleb)

Though it takes her a while, she does eventually find a way to revert herself back to a human and go home. Once again, the illusion told her the magic wore off, but she couldn't help but notice the ease of which the shift happened. The process felt natural, like her body had done this many times before.

There were so many questions running in Mimi's head she felt like the room was spinning. Which, considering the chaos of what was going on outside, could very well be the case. Still, the moments that they had over the past few days highlighted something even a confused Mimi could not deny: she can trust her dads as people.

Hopefully they could help figure out what was going on. "...dad..." Her tone was low and serious. "We need to talk."

Caleb's been a little concerned - he doesn't really know Mimi enough to say if she's broken out or not. In fact he really doesn't know her at all. He's been quietly trying to pretend he's intending to make sculptures for a lot of the day, faintly sketching things out but not yet using his power.

Mimi's tone makes him instantly worried, though. Shit. "Of course, Mimi. What's going on?"

Home Sweet Home

Lena wasn't sure if it was because she was actually suspicious, or if people were just starting to notice that she wasn't human and decided that made her suspicious. But suddenly her face was being broadcast as one of the potential Voidtreckers, and even though people were being told not to try confronting them, she wasn't about to take that chance.

So, while she knew she probably shouldn't be using the invisibility power she received from this world, it made it easier to hide out in the open. She was able to walk around without people noticing her, which helped her look out for any others that might be starting to break free of the illusion.

The invisibility wasn't perfect, though, and she did need a rest every once in a while. While she did try to take cover in between invisibility times, she was still a duck in a mostly human-looking world.

Moondust Cafe

Lena could not really decipher the message on her own. However, she did notice a lot of people starting to head to the cafe, so that seemed like a good place to check out.

She remained invisible for the most part, until she followed people downstairs. Then, when she was sure that it seemed safe, she dropped the disguise and took a seat, keeping an eye out for anyone she might know.

Let Loose

Lena was never really one to keep a low profile. Even while having secrets, she couldn't help making a scene somehow. So with all the animals running around, she wasn't just about sit back and do nothing, even if people were still angry with the Voidtreckers.

There's a flash of light as some of the twisted creatures are about to pounce on unsuspecting victims, blocked by a blue force field. Using the energy, Lena then pushes the animals back.

"Get out of here!" she called out, before flying forward to continue dealing with the attacking creatures.

"Lena, you're Lena!" She says as if she's confirming more for herself than Lena's. "I know who you are!"

Making Do

Something was very, very wrong.

Kate knew that much, although she still wasn't entirely sure what it was. All she knew was that everything seemed rather suspicious, and she couldn't help feeling that all the panic and blame on the Voidtreckers wasn't right.

Still, she had school and work to deal with, so she continued going about her day, though kept an ear out for any more news about the Voidtreckers. She had a few questions of her own.

Moondust Cafe

Kate understood morse code. She didn't know how she knew morse code, but she realized what the message was saying, which was how she found herself at the cafe, ordering the drink mentioned in the message.

Then she headed downstairs as directed, but couldn't help feeling a little nervous. She wasn't entirely sure what she was even doing there, let alone what would happen if they were caught by people still looking for the Voidtreckers. She knew she could get into a lot of trouble just being there.

Crumbling, Crumbling

Everything was chaos.

There was confusion and panic and everything is a lie and she isn't sure how she's supposed to help.

But she knew she had to do something.

Yondu's just seen the viral 'video' of the cat and the robot, and that it's Chiff is enough for him to realize those noises mean something. But Yondu is not an expert at Morse code, so he's out looking for 'James'. (Poor goddamn bastard has to walk around wearing a name he's not comfortable with.)

It's his search for Soldat that leads him to Kitty, and he might seem a touch more on edge when he runs into her.

Things were getting worse and worse. It seemed like with everything slowly falling apart, it seems that her chances of walking alone were getting slimmer and slimmer. Especially when it seems that she might have been spotted and charged as a Voidtrekker.

That's not good.

So, she'll have to take it steathly this time around...

Missing birds, missing pets, missing buildings and now monsters? Oh, great! Nozomi has her hands full suited up as Cure Dream. Fighting monsters is something she's used to, but the longer it lasts, the more she tires. Little help?

Nozomi had been spotted by the D-Force and was no caught in the fight of her life. These guys weren't pulling punches, something she could feel even as Cure Dream. As she pulled herself out of the hole she was punched into, she spoke again.

"You got it all wrong. I'm not evil...!"

Here's Mami on the scene in her dress, flinging yellow ribbons every which way to try to corral critters. Not subtle at all, but she thinks she can evade the authorities if things go wrong.

Herd the animals to safety first, then she'll focus on the monsters! But there's already a row of rifles appearing, surrounding Nozomi protectively.

Tidus ; OTA!

They have to get people to their right senses. That's what Tidus thinks - the more people out of this brainwashing, the more help they'll have on their side. And what's the best way of doing that than going to people's homes and winging it?!

He can ring their doorbell and be along, meeting the people who answer it with a sheepish smile, a "Hey! Sorry to bother you, but can I borrow your phone? I got really turned around", or looking more desperate with a fist squeezing. "Heyy, sorry, can I use your bathroom!? This is an emergency!"

[ 1.5 ] Or he can be in company with this guy, dressed in white shirts and trousers and holding clipboards, trying their best to look Respectable.

There's the option of a survey - "Hey there, can you help us out with a quick survey?" Tidus says, earnest and quickly- "I swear, five minutes!" - or a requested interview - "It's for our school newspaper, about what everyone's been feeling lately," he explains (thanks Renge, sorry Renge) - for normal door-knocking.

Or there's the one where it's just Inigo at the door, looking decidedly nervous - acted or not? - as he keeps glancing at something behind him in the distance. By the time he turns back to you, he practically sounds like he’s pleading as he’s saying, “P-Please, my friend needs help!” If you bother to look, it seems like his friend indeed needs help, considering the other guy is seated against a tree with blood on his leg.

[ 2. night/day-time trouble ]

He's not trying to stay out late for any particular reason (though, the freedom to do so is nice). They need to stay under the radar, and staying in the apartment he was appointed doesn't seem safe, if in a paranoid way. What if he's already been picking up attention!? He doesn't want the fuzz after him!

That's what leads him into situations with the monsters. Does he find your character already engaged with one? Or do you find him, taking on one? One could drop suddenly close to your character, using the buildings to sprint across, when this lands with a hissing tongue, either its attention on Tidus, or on you.

Or there's an NPC another character in need, a scream that leads them running into the sight of this approaching the poor individual. They try to turn and run, but the monster gives chase.

[ 3. needing to rest ]

But everyone needs to take down-time. Tidus isn't making it a habit of being too out in the open, but for those who recognise him - out of their own delusions or not sure he is - he will always take a second look at them, wherever it is.

Or he might be found tucked in the corner of a coffee shop, a diner, rubbing his face. He's been using those extra powers to get around quietly, and whether he's alone, or you and him are already speaking, he seems dazed. Blinking at you, an uncertain dip to his brow, taken out of whatever conversation they were in the middle of.

As the monster with a weird tongue lands, Tidus will find that there's a blast of fire that shoots over his shoulder and makes direct contact with the vile thing. The thing looks between Tidus and the person behind him, who speaks up.

"Do you... uh. Mind taking the front line? I need time to cast and I'm not an up-close fighter." He could change, but in the middle of combat probably isn't the best time for that.

Day 7 or 8

Link had seen the end of a world before. He'd seen first hand how the people of Termina handled the ending of their world. Or, what would have been the end of their world had he failed. And of course, Hyrule had been in desperate straits. (Hyrule was often in desperate straits, to be fair.)

This world was a fake, but, it still mattered to the hero. These people had been kidnapped, after all. And even though he knew the false memories he'd shaken off had been just that--false, it still saddened him to see a world on the brink of collapse.

He could be found fighting the monsters from the zoo, or gently encouraging the more stubborn residents to remember their real lives. Link's approach was a great deal softer than Shadow's, sitting with people, trying to rationalize them out of their brainwashing.

As far as efficiency went, Shadow's was probably the more brutally effective of the two.

Still, after dispatching a monster, he'd sheath his sword and smile at the nearest person, ready to try and help where and when he could. "Are you okay?"

Prompto hadn't meant to freeze like that, it was just all of a sudden the monster was there and he didn't know what to do.

Ugh, he should know what to do. Was that a holdover from the whole illusion?

Maybe.

He exhaled. "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks really. Sorry." He ducked his head sheepishly.
